I heard that the Gateway team stole the public arm9loaderhax for use with their cart. They added lockdown to it so that it requires the GW red cart to work, as usual...

Except that in this case, it basically means that your 3DS is worthless without their red cart.

In short, fuck Gateway. The clone detection brick was already bad enough, but this is a whole new level of terrible.

It also will brick n3DS's as they failed to steal stuff correctly (doesn't unbrick 2.1 emunand before flashing to sysnand, instabrick).

They fixed this.

Also, they added sysnand restore, so you can restore sysnand before gateshit came in.

Also, they added in so hardmod no longer works. So, if you don't have a sysnand backup, you just married gateway.

I've never felt the desire to use a Gateway, emuNAND, or whatever else that allows you to run stolen games.
If I need a ROM, I always dump them myself.

I only used one in the early homebrew days because it was the only public way to run homebrew. then ninjhax was released.
