Hello together! I'm really interested in NDS-rom-hacking and really want to play my hacks on my 3DS.
I already have Homebrew but really don't know, how i can play the roms. Is there an application which allows playing NDS-roms or is there another way to play NDS-roms on 3DS? I also have a R4-card, which unfortunately can't be launched on my 3DS. Is there a way to avoid this barrier? Thank you for advance ![]() |

Unfortunately, you can't, and never will be, able to run NDS roms from the homebrew launcher, due to technical restrictions.
As for flashcards, it comes down to getting the right one. If you find a flashcard that looks like it plays NDS roms on your firmware, do thorough research on it. If you post the one you plan to use here, someone else could probably verify it (I'm not very knowledgeable when it comes to flashcard specifics). ____________________ Website | Twitter ![]() |

Is your 3ds 9.2? If yes, depending on what kind of r4 you have you can run them. Otherwise you're out of luck. ____________________ Switch on latest firm happily playing Smash daily PC with an i7-4790K, RX480, 16GB ram Various other consoles that are hardly used due to emulation existing |

Posted by MrRean Sorry about that. Posted by StapleButter But does it work above 9.2? IIRC, the only DS flashcart that works above 9.2 was the DSTWO+. I was just assuming he was on a higher firmware. Believe it or not, I actually did do research on the subject. If you have CFW, there's a CIA you can install that removes flashcart blacklists, allowing you to use things like the R4 cards and Cellenseres is working on a way to inject DS games into CIAs for installing. (Although its unclear if its real or not.) Please don't call my posts bullshit just because I forgot about something. ____________________ :^) |

R4i RTS works.
Also if you are 9.2 you install a cia that removes some checks enabling many flash cards to work again that were patched out. (doesn't add support to any flash cards that were blocked on the very first firmware though. |

Theres a CIA called the stage2 twl flashcart launcher. It can run the original r4 and several others. Otherwise the same person released a flashcart launcher that works on stuff older than a patched twl firm alone can fix but newer than the stage 2 launcher can be used for, and finally you can find a patched twl firm on that iso site which will let any flashcart that worked on the 3ds since firmware 1.0 function on the latest firmware. ____________________ Switch on latest firm happily playing Smash daily PC with an i7-4790K, RX480, 16GB ram Various other consoles that are hardly used due to emulation existing |

Skawo might have something bad to say about playing rom hacks with on DStwo with an SDHC card. |

this video popped up a couple months ago. Now if something more stable, user friendly and can work on the latest firmware as of right now could pop up, that would be great. |

I use a 3DS R4 SDHC flashcart with the latest firmware, and I play NDS hacks on my 3DS with it. Long story short, it's down to which flashcart you get.
As for homebrew, I have no experience with it, but if you have homebrew I would assume that you can run NDS's with it, because you could bypass whatever anti-piracy stuff has in place, but again, I have no experience with homebrew so don't take my word for it. ____________________ Sorry for the maintenance -- we'll be back soon! |
