Last view: 1628 days ago 		I'm thinking this needs 2 themes, a main fiery theme, then the same one remixed to have water filter sound effect things. And we might be able to trigger it to play when you swim in the actual water

Kinda like Beach Bowl aboveground and Beach Bowl underwater
It captures what I want as the distinguishing line between water filter effects and normal music.

Last view: 2574 days ago 		Good news guys: I have been working on Aquaflame's music while I was grounded, and I am happy to say it is almost entirely complete! I did post a MIDI of it on the IRC, NSK may have the link. I am at a school PC so unfortunately I can't upload it quite yet. The song features a distorted, reverbed synth bass, with a special aquatic organ playing the melody. There are bongos, percussion, chimes, and mallets in the background as well.

Yes, the distorted organ. The sound reminds me of cooking food in boiling water XD. Well, you are cooking Mario in the lava and water >:), so that is why it is effective.

It still turned out as a nice job. It is good that there is no need for multiple versions. That gives this gakaxy's music uniqueness unlike most other multi-themed galaxies.

Last view: 2679 days ago 		sounds cool, i agree with agent though, those 3notes sound like a mistake, you need other things doubling that rhythm like having the percussion push in time with it, otherwise it sounds too weak, great atmosphere though.

Last view: 2574 days ago 		For some reason, the mixed meter feel that I added seems to work, at least according to my ears. Did you listen to the YT version or the HQ version?

EDIT: And I also feel that having a somewhat dissonant mixed meter section makes the resolution feel more strong. The resolution is the part where it goes back to 4/4

Last view: 2679 days ago 		ive got no issue with the idea, i just think you need to commit to it more, its the "half-assed" aspect of it that make it sound like a sequencing mistake. i actually think its a great track, you just need to emphasise the rhythmic disonance.

I think changing the rhythm slightly could achieve the same effect but make it sound better. And also, some parts of the song have a lot of instruments layered over each other, which sounds rather cluttered.

They're not the ones who know how music works :P They just listen to it and if it sounds good then it's fine. If people are hearing stuff that doesn't sound fine then of course it needs to be fixed.
