Faking your suicide is a terrible thing to do. Get out. Level: 100 Posts: 2878/2912 EXP: 10030478 Next: 323918 Since: 01-30-13 Last post: 3170 days ago Last view: 3169 days ago |
So I posted a comment on this video to show to all of you just how fucked up YouTube's comment system is nowadays. Take a look at this picture:
Notice how you can only reply/like my comment and the comment I responded to. The other comments, you can't do shit because Google+ was not implemented yet. Also, replies to made comments nowadays appear beneath the comment that is being replied to. Notice that the other two comments that are replies say "in to reply blah blah blah" and the comment that it replied to does not appear above them. All I have to say is excellent designing, YouTube! A shitty comment system is definitely the way to go! In all seriousness, this is terrible designing. But alas, YouTube will only continue to fuck up their overall layout. This is just with commenting. What about the rest of the site's interfaces? YouTube keeps on making their interface shittier and when you're getting used to their shitty design, they introduce a new design that is even shittier. ____________________ Super Mario LOLand Thanks to kaj for helping to port my Acmlmboard 2.5 layout to Acmlmboard 2.064! |

It's what Google does. Take things that have a monopoly on something and don't suck and make them suck so bad that it's intolerable but you have no other alternatives because ultimately it's still better than bing or dailymotion.
Google+ is literally the worst thing in the multiverse though. |

There's nothing wrong with Google+ in my opinion. The social network itself is really nice if you take part of a community and I enjoy its integration. ____________________ |

In some videos, the comments lost all hierarchy and appear to be sorted randomly.
All the comments are sorted more or less randomly anyway. Google apparently decided that sorting things by date wasn't cool anymore. ____________________ NSMBHD - Kafuka - Jul melonDS the most fruity DS emulator there is zafkflzdasd |

In my honest opinion, it is not the comment system or layout itself that sucks, but rather its users and what/how they post. But that is besides the point of this thread.
Also, this; Posted by StapleButter I have noticed that, except that I think rather than being sorted randomly, comments are sorted, by default, from the highest number of "likes" descending. Not really all that much better In my opinion though. ____________________ I got nothing. To put here, that is. |

Random video from start page of youtube.
Top comment being 5 days ago, 8 likes and 19 reactions. One below that 4 days ago, 72 likes and 14 reactions. Below that 4 days ago, 81 likes and 24 reactions. Below that 5 days ago, 60 likes and 18 reactions. Below that the creators default comment 6 days ago with 1790 likes. Sense ... there is none. |

It's like that infinite scrolling bullshit. They're all jumping on that bandwagon. The first few 'pages', it's cool, you don't need to click anywhere, it automatically loads more for you, wow... but as soon as you want to look at a very old entry, you find yourself scrolling over and over again until your browser crashes because the page grew too big. Or until you accidentally click a link or whatever and have to start over. ____________________ NSMBHD - Kafuka - Jul melonDS the most fruity DS emulator there is zafkflzdasd |
