Shit this conversation goes way to fast, I haven't replied yet

As much as I agree with you Jesse, is there anything you are doing in that direction?

If you mean helping them, I tried to come up ideas on how they could do it. I have tried to explain what was going wrong when you made a custom yoshi, or copy pasting stuff into the bdl. yet they come up with weird stuff like "animation addresses". but meh, its their project, I have my own stuff of course.

Regarding blue saying that it would take years to master a computer language. Me 4 or 5 months back: "I am too stupid to learn programming". 5 months later I build a Pak editor in c# which can do various stuff with pak and its content like editing string files and importing files with compression. Of course the program is not perfect and it lacks allot of stuff. But as I progress trying to add stuff, I get better and better at it.

It might seem I am trying to make you look like a fool, GalaxyHacker. But I am trying to activate you to learn to make stuff your own. This is so important when it comes to hacking games and stuff like this. Not only you learn to make programs, but you will learn how files work and how you can modify them in a correct way. And trust me, I am one of the worst students at my class, yet I am able to learn this stuff, so can you.

There are people who need more time to learn shit, but everyone can.

GalaxyHacker says he can't because he isn't willing to, and prefers comfortably waiting for someone else to spoonfeed him.

Why wait, when we can actually fix the feather? It's triangular, when it shouldn't be.

The friend that told me this said that the vertices should still be there, it's that the feather needs to be redone.

The problem has nothing to do with the feather being made of triangles or squares. The problem is that when you use obj2bdl all the vertices will be attached to the root joint and can therefore not be animated. There are currently no tools that allows you to do what you are trying to do.

^ That's what I was trying to say in the very first post. Yes you're able to export models snd reimport them but it's impossible (currently) to import models with multiple joints. You'd need to manually go through the BDL's sections using a hex editor and add the needed polygon and joint data if you wanted to do that (which is very tedious)

So if that's the case, then we need to re-do the entire thing, but with the tool involved that's currently in development.

All it can do ATM is import vertices...

...and it seems to have been postponed indefinitely...

...everyone, please move along and act as though you didn't know this plugin exists.

Is that so?

When will it be released?

I just hope whoever's doing the plugin can get released soon. Not saying it needs to be rushed.

It's impossible, plain and simple. End of discussion. Move on and try something else.

I wouldn't give it all up just yet. We came so far.

If you want you can hex edit the data in as I mentioned, all the documentation you'd need is in obj2bdl, but considering you were helpless enough to not be able to extract that feather from SM64DS yourself, I doubt you have the skills to do anything that complex.

Well, I don't even have the feather from SM64DS. But if you insist, I can try that. But....where to get obj2bdl?

We didn't came anywhere. We just did something that didn't work.

I also saw on the uploader that Fiachra had uploaded the feather so why did I had to make it self? Because it was a 7z file that you didn't knew how to extract?

You know where you can obj2bdl. It's written in Python and I don't know if you know that launguage. Anyway, to view it's source code, open it in Notepad.

I saw the feather that Fiachra uploaded and I got it. I honestly didn't know that he had it up already.

Now that I got the feather, I must see how I can use some sort of texture to make it Red.
