It has a bit to do with it, the end gates for the gliding levels are both shine sprite rings.

In all honesty, I feel World 7 shouldn't be completely linear if possible, kinda like how World 5 in SMG2 was with all the choices.


World 5's paths were like this:

If World 7 is not going to have linear paths, then the paths should probably be unique forms like half a square leading to one galaxy and a "3" leading to another.

Anyway, jokes aside, perhaps something like a hexagon.

A hexagon would be better since it has not been done before.

Let's stahp complicating stuff and make it simple like any other world map :P just make it like you would one for any other world.

That's actually really clever, shaping it like a star, though I think it's impossible, considering I don't think we've ever seen paths like that...

However, this one isn't easy to navigate. There are points you can't get to with the Nunchuk, because the connections aren't spaced enough. I think this would work well if it was more spaced and/or if the number of paths was reduced.

But technically it is possible :)

The hexagram map is awesome, but too bad the paths won't work for the galaxy in Flip-Swap's position and Super Mario Galaxy in the middle.

We don't need to have EVERY galaxy connected directly to every other galaxy there. Just have the outer hexagon and each galaxy connected to Grandmaster.

Thing is, the whole point of an elaborate map like I suggested is to look nice. :P
I heard the world map uses coordinates like any galaxy...I wonder if it'd be possible to make some paths on "layer 2" so the line shows but is inaccessible (probably a stupid idea).
Anyway, maybe the outer hexagon could be removed then...?

If we keep only the outer hexagon, we lose the star motif. But if we remove it, well, it looks like a cool star, but may be a bit blarg to navigate... idk.

This kind of thing was exactly what I had in mind when I made these threads. Amazing work! Sorry if I'm not seeing something obvious, but what tool did you use to edit this?

Ah. It'll probably be years before a tutorial surfaces, so I won't even bother to inquire further. :P Still, that's a step in the right direction - we'll be able to actually edit world maps.

It's easy to do so.
All you do is just use the points like coordinates.
