So should star 1 be like a regular rock level in the way that rock mario stops on its own, with star 2 being a musical crash course?

But usually minor stars are second. I mean, while the crash course would be more fun, it would be silly to have it be the main mission

Edit:
New idea...

I think that simple piano keys with music notes should be our default paths to connect different features. (Literally just the keys, no actual piano)

This will make the level smoother while keeping the music theme

This is for the crash course btw

I'm gonna attempt to make a full design for this one... since that seems to be the main thing going round on the forum at the moment. You know, about designs.

Anyway, yeah, I'm going to try a design and see if it works :S

@MC: Hey, I never said mine was going to be accepted. And no-one said yours would be accepted either. Having a range of designs gives a variety of choice, meaning instead of having one design, glem and/or cosmo can select the best design. So you see, both of us can design this galaxy without having to argue or be horrible to each other :)

Agreed. Feel free to post a design if you want. It doesn't mean it will be accepted, but it will at least be looked over. Anybody can do a design anytime if they feel like. Even me:P

MC! Since I've seen your design and I think it's MUCH better than mine will ever be :P

A few requests here:
:- in Star 1, the first planet should be a small cube with a switch on. The background is black and there is no music playing, then when Mario hits the switch BOOM! Colour, light and sound fire up and a launch star appears to the actual first planet :P I think that would be good for effect.
:- in Star 2, the crash course, Octoomba Concert. OCTOOMBA CONCERT.

For your first request, I see what you mean but I don't know how possible it is...

The second, however, it obviously possible and I'll be sure to include it. Btw I got inspiration from that idea for the octoombas dancing in a line. Can you just be more specific as to what's going on in the concert? And what the "stage" will look like?

I'm sure the first idea can work fine. After all, in Martboo's "Curiosity with Switches" video, he changes the background just by spinning, and I'm sure music changes are possible also so I believe the first idea is definitely within our capabilities :3

Well, you're the designer ;) but if you want my opinion: loudspeakers on the stage, trailing wires and a mic stand. Coloured lights shining onto a kind-of semi-circle-esque stage. The Octoombas are all dancing in the "pit" section :P

At least, that's my visualization of it. Yours might be completely different :)

I like the idea but I'm just not sure how to incorporate it when Mario is constantly rolling...

At the end perhaps? The star can be on the stage and there is a little ramp leading up to it. Mario has to bowl them down to reach the star. Poor Octoombas indeed.

1) Yeah, that will be possible, if not now, but by the end of the project because switches can load and unload backgrounds, and we are going to HAVE to be able to trigger music for the project. A switch can also trigger a launch star.

The Octoomba concert sounds hilarious! I mean, Mario defeating Octoomba musicians >:). It is an evil act (no pun intended) of getting rid of evil guys.

Grand star I'll be honest with you. You've been here for two days and there is already talk of banning you... I'm warning you that random posts like these are going to get you in trouble...

Either way, to be on topic, it's not the WORST idea I've ever heard. However, I suggest you read my full design on the Rock n' Roll Star 1 thread. Then you can tell me where and how in the level the idea would be implemented. I truly appreciate your desire to help, and I just want to see improvement in how you give your ideas. Quality>Quantity

Just put some thought into them :)
