Posted by StapleButter Okay, that is a completely different statement, and one I can completely understand your reasoning for. Certainly more so than accusing me of overreacting. I'm sorry for being so religious-propaganda-minister-ish, or...whatever you described it as. I was just hoping to make the big picture known, so information sources from which opinions are derived can be less biased, not to deliberately change your and MrRean's opinions. I just...maybe I'm wrong, I don't know, I just want to see that, if I am right, that GalaxyHacker's potential is realized and known. I'm sorry. Are you going to ban me now or something? If so, I will understand and respect your reasoning for doing so, without opposition. |

Ban is for make the site safe from people who may destroy it or whatever. Not because you're angry or don't like a person. |

Posted by Rainbow Mario StapleButter doesn't have to follow those rules, though. He's an evil dictator that bans people who disagree with him. |

Posted by Splitwirez You could just directly call me a dictator, it'd be a shitton faster. Where have you seen that 'noone cares about SMG1 hacking' is some kind of 'convention'? The issue is that SMG1 is a complex game and overall the SMG games have lost in popularity over the time (not that there were many people willing to hack them to begin with, given how complex they are). If this convention crap was true, then why would Whitehole and Anarchy support SMG1? Why would one be looked down upon for hacking SMG1? You receive input based on how 'cool' what you pulled off is, and this mostly depends on how advanced the scene is. See, for example, the SMW scene. In the early days, a simple edited level was considered 'cool', but now? It's a mainstream thing, you have to get really creative to do something considered cool. Same deal for SMG. Swapping files/textures around can give nifty results, but this has been possible since the day decrypting a Wii ISO has been possible, so it's not new. It comes out as wrong when you come praising him for that as if he had made an entirely new game. You're greatly overestimating the coolness of the hack. Because meaningwhile, some persons have been putting lots of time and effort into making completely new, Nintendo-quality models for SMG2.5, and have their work been praised like that? Not even close. "I see no way that "He's a moron" can be a legitimate reason to ban a legitimate user. That is poor administration, banning due to opinions, even if they are shared." You realize that if this was true, you would already be banned, right? Banning users for being idiots is a perfectly legit thing. Imagine that you're the CEO of some company. You have that worker who does his work right, produces good quality content. But whenever you criticize him, he gets angry and starts insulting everyone. Would you keep him? (this is an example, not representing any real person) This example is far-fetched because Kuribo64 isn't a company, but the point is the same. When a user has behavioral issues and causes trouble, it doesn't matter how competent or useful they are, they are treated like everyone else. ____________________ NSMBHD - Kafuka - Jul melonDS the most fruity DS emulator there is zafkflzdasd |

Posted by StapleButter Here I was thinking that whole "StapleButter is a dictator" thing was a joke. Wait...is it? You don't come across as an "evil dictator", just as prone to personal opinionated bias. That seems to be just me, though. It seems to be the popular opinion. I figured that Anarchy and Whitehole supported SMG1 because of how similar the two games are, or to open up the possbility (seems like Whitehole predates the aforementioned "conventional opinion" which I seem to be incorrect about the existence of). I figured it would be seen as a waste of time. That is true. Again, you seem to be missing my point: It isn't the hack, it's the hacker. As for SMG2.5's modellers and such...I've been unable to find words to describe that stuff. So, it's not that it hasn't been praised as such, it's that it transcends my vocabulary. I don't know if I'm alone in that or not. Fair enough, about the whole thing about banning me. I missed that earlier. As for the company example, there's a difference between the example and the actual situation. We both have our opinions, and there is no reason for which either should be able to influence the other maliciously. I just wanted to present information that appeared to be missing (though I now realize that it was not entirely so), for the sake of fairness. Can we just agree to disagree on this now, and let GalaxyHacker have his thread back? |

If you were to improve it, I would use a wider variety of backgrounds. There are plenty you aren't using, and it would be nice to have some of those other backgrounds seen.
You have plenty of talent, you just need to utilize it. ![]() ____________________ Remember, every user has to start out somewhere,- Every time I look back at my old posts, I cringe. |
