Yeah, pretty much. Not a huge problem, and one that can easily be fixed.

I can select any Star EXPECT for the Green Star on the top row (just like the annotations said). The Gearmo gives you that Green Star after completing the crate-burning challenge. If you collect Green Star 2 (the one near the normal Star in the level), the game tells you that you got the hidden star. It's a really strange... discovery I made...

Did you not look at the video I posted? "It" is me swapping the "IDs" of Green Star 2 and the hidden Star in the Rightside Down Galaxy.

Yeah...I figured it was something like that, but I really couldn't tell for sure, given that you really didn't show anything but the stars, which AFAIK could've been an object swap. Geez, sorry for not understanding information I wasn't given.



Well, here is a video showing gameplay with the strange Star menu from earlier: http://youtu.be/j65YO41xqEU (turn annotations on)! Also, sorry that the Stars are transparent... Can't fix that issue!

It sounds like if you had messed with the PowerStarID in the Scenario file. That's the only other time something like that has happened.

The PowerStarIDs are unaffected... All I did was change which Star had a "PowerStarAppearObj" (the one used for the crate-burning minigame).

There isn't the need to shout, because you asked me which ID he was talking about, and I said PowerStarID because that's a value you shouldn't touch.

I'm simply pointing out how similar it is to something else to point out a possible cause of how it works in the code. Nothing more, nothing less. I never said you edited the PowerStarID.

lolno, I don't even know what's going on in the code (since that's where it's happening, there's no file editing you can do to fix this), that'd take a lot more research.

Sorry for bumping an old thread, but I have another question...

When I create the Riivolution file in order to use my "hack", the file can read the StageData folder correctly... but how do I make the Riivolution file read the LocalizeDate file that I edited...?

What am I missing?

Uh...I'm not sure about this, but using
<folder external="/SuperMarioGalaxy2/LocalizeData" disc="/LocalizeData"/>
instead of
<folder external="/SuperMarioGalaxy2/LocalizeData/UsEnglish" disc="/LocalizeData/UsEnglish"/>
<folder external="/SuperMarioGalaxy2/LocalizeData/UsFrench" disc="/LocalizeData/UsFrench"/>
<folder external="/SuperMarioGalaxy2/LocalizeData/UsSpanish" disc="/LocalizeData/UsSpanish"/>
might help, or it might not, as would checking EVERYTHING for typos and other mistakes.

Hmm...I'm not sure. As far as I can tell, you don't seem to be missing anything. Send me the XML and the files you're trying to load, and I'll take a look and see if there's anything wrong.

Hmm...nothing seems out of place...unless of course you, say, forgot to add the modified files or forgot to save your changes or some silly little mistake like that, but I did notice that in the XML you used
<id game="SB4" />
which could affect region-specific files (I doubt it, but no loss in trying). I usually use
<id game="SB4E01"/>
instead. Wait...you are running an NTSC-U version of the game, right?
