Are you saying like having Dash Yoshi on Stone Cyclone? (Something like that?) Because that would be sick.

I have decided to publicly release my unused draft that I PM'd to Cosmo. I know much of it contradicts what Glem said, but a few parts, like the Starfruit/Carambola part, actually make good use of Dash Yoshi. I will post it here so that all of you can build upon those ideas and give a reason and a role for Dash Yoshi in this galaxy.

So, here it is:

Here is my design for the three Stars. Note that I have not named the mission yet.

Star 1:  Cotton candy clouds and grapes are background objects. The enemies here are Paragoombas, Prianha Plants, and Twirlips.

Mario lands on a piece of bacon on a gigantic frying pan. He must hatch Yoshi for the Dash Pepper. The first piece of bacon slopes up and turns to the right. At the end of the first piece, Yoshi must jump to the second piece of bacon. This slopes up a little bit then it has a huge downward slope.  The final piece slopes up and curves left, slopes down and again curves left, then slopes down and up like between two rolling hills.

Dash Yoshi goes down a straw slide into a soda can. However, he is blocked by blocked by an icecube. A pipe near the up-left corner of the icecube leads to the soda can's exterior.

Dash Yoshi goes on a macaroni slide. There are four pieces of macaroni. The first piece curves to the right. The second piece curves to up. The third piece is straight, curves down then up, and is straight again. The final piece curves 180 degrees right.

Dash Yoshi goes on taco shells . This is the first appearance of burger berries. There are two taco shells. Dash Yoshi has to follow a smoothed out path on the taco shells. The 1st taco shell's path goes up, right, then back down at the middle. Then it goes to the other side of the interior and goes up, then curves to the final shell. The final shell's path goes up, right, down a little, right, then back down to the middle. Then it goes up, sideways, diagonally up, and curves sideways again.

Dash Yoshi goes on a rolling corncob, rolling sausage, and a rolling shish kebab. Final appearance of burger berries. The three food items work identical except the sausage rolls left while the others roll right.

Dash Yoshi goes on spinning star cookies and then spinning starfruit slices. The cookies and fruit are sudeways, like a wall to the ground. The cookies and fruit form a rainbow-esque curve. There first half are cookies and the second half are fruit slices. The Power Star is on the final carambola slice.

Star 2: Cotton candy clouds and grapes are background objects. The enemies here are Piranha Plants, Twirlips, Goombas, and Sidesteppers.

Mario lands on a piece of cereal that is has three curves; right curve, left curve, then right curve. There are five other pieces of cereal like this floating in the quicksand-like milk in the cereal bowl. The path has the first piece foward, second piece slightly right, third piece slighty right (forward from the 2nd piece's perspective), fourth piece slightly left (forward from the 1st piece's perspective), and the fifth piece forward (like the 1st and 4th pieces). The cereal bowl is a bright cyan bowl that, near the top of the bowl, has pink lines resembling the cereal.

Mario goes to a platform that is a soda can opener tab. From there, he goes to a straight path of eight soda cans. The 1st can is pink, 2nd red, 3rd orange, 4th yellow, 5th green, 6th blue, 7th purple, and 8th magenta. The soda cans produce soda geysers of their respective colors. Mario must use these soda geysers to procede.

Mario goes to fried Bloopers. There are six of them. Although they are going left-to-right when Mario lands, they are actually in a straight line with a small gap between the third and fourth Bloopers. They act as platforms and have one way gravity ( you can fall off as they do not have global gravity). They are colored golden tan.

Mario goes to a zucchini and a squash. They are both about 1.5x bigger than the sausage, corncob, and shish kebab from the previous planet.  However, they do not rotate and they have global gravity.

Mario goes to a pizza. Mario must make it to the middle left slice that is infront of him where he starts. Grinders cut up the pizza. The pizza will have five slices of pepperoni, mushrooms, and bell peppers on each slice. The pepperonis are close to the middle of the pizza/front edge of slices. The mushrooms and bell peppers are in the middle of slices. The bell pepper slice is half a mushroom nearer to the crust than a mushroom slice.

Mario goes to an line of 2D donut planets and 3D donut planets which all have bubble gum mud. There are three 2D donuts and they have white frosting, chocolate frosting, and pink frosting, respectively. Then there are three 3D donuts which have Star Chips on them. The 3D donuts have yellow frosting, red frosting, and green frosting, respectively. The yellow donut has one Star Chip that is underneath it. The red donuts had two Star Chips. One is circling in the donut hole and the other is moving in a small circling, in the back of the donut ( it appears to be the back from where you start. The final donut, green one, had the remaining two Star Chips. One Star Chip is circling the outer edge of the donut. The last one is circling sudeways around the donut (the Star Chip is moving in and out of the hole, like a basketball that is constantly thrown in a hoop). A Launch Star and two Pull Stars appear above the green donut. The Pull Stars are to the left and right of the Launch Star.

Mario goes to a  red velvet cupcake with white frosting. It is about the size of the ice cream cones in Toy Time. He must defeat the two Magikoopas that spawn SMW-like Goombas there for the Power Star to appear.

Star 3: Cotton candy clouds and grapes are background objects

This mission is a  speedrun that takes place on the frying pan from the first mission. Two minutes are given for the speedrun. This time however, there are five pieces of bacon and the enemies from the first mission are replaced by Choppahs and meteors. The first three pieces of bacon are identical here as they were in the 1st mission except for dufficulty added by the timer and the new enemies.

The first piece of bacon slopes up and turns to the right. At the end of the first piece, Yoshi must jump to the second piece of bacon. This slopes up a little bit then it has a huge steep downward slope.  The third piece slopes up and curves left, slopes down and again curves left, then slopes down and up like between two rolling hills.  The fourth piece slopes up and down continuosly three times with the third slope having a steep upward slope and a steep downward slope. The final piece is a bit tricky. It is undulating in waves of various steepness. The waves go medium steep, mild steep, huge steep, and extreme steep. The extreme steepness only appears in this area and mission of the entire galaxy. At the end is the Power Star.

Don't forget I'm the one designing this

Also NWP we'll be using a lot of gravity in solar coaster

Instead fruit roll slopes, there could be fruit roll conveyor belts that are so fast that only Dash Yoshi will be able to run on them.

Yes, what I meant was that we need to think of gameplay that actually compliments dash yoshi. Do we know how to make conveyors? I'd avoid that idea for now. Every single time we use the dash power, it needs to have a reason. Here are Dash Yoshi's powers:

1. Running on otherwise impossible angles
2. Running on water
3. Outrunning some bad thing (Falling platforms, crushing blocks)

Make sure for your dash yoshi ideas at least one of these aplies. One example would be having the swiss cheese planet be part of a sandwich, and the top and bottom bread are actually closing in on you (of course, this is hard to actually execute in reality).

Another example could simply be dashing between planets in 2D where a boulder/chomp chases you from the left.

I don't think he can necessarily jump longer than the Normal Yoshi (since Dash Yoshi can't use the Flutter Jump), but he jumps FASTER than Normal Yoshi, which is still something :)

Dash yoshi can't flutterjump? I'm pretty sure he still can...

He can, and iirc he drifts forward too when he does that (unless the player moves against it of course.)

Oh I forgot yeah he can indeed flutterjump. srry (I guess I forgot that since I never use the flutter jump with him unless I need to, and that's not alot). :P

Anyway here's a random idea: Maybe there could be a planet formed like a Cola/Fanta/Soda bottle tilted sideways (and with soda inside of course), and Dash Yoshi would need to dash across the soda to reach a launch star at the bottom (technically END) of the bottle that would send him to the next planet? (Naturally there would be some obstacles and whatnot :3

(At least the above was the best thing I could think of by exploiting Dash Yoshi's ablility to walk on water while still making it food themed)

I'd advise not using water. Even so, I have a bunch of ideas in mind for this galaxy, so don't worry. Also keep in mind the galaxy is not 100% dash yoshi, parts of it are still normal Mario.

I don't remember if anyone brought this up, but I will do so again.
We could have bouncy collision in this, and I remember somebody suggesting using the lava collision, though that might be a bit extreme. It's difficult to think of ways to use Dash Yoshi as a part of the level. A bowl of soup with noodles and you have to Dash along the noodles to the other side?

The grapes from Honeybloom could given bouncy collision for Normal Mario.

Dash Yoshi could be dashing on noodles that are sinkingcin the hot soup. Maybe even some pieces of chicken or vegetables that Dash Yoshi has to jump over.

They aren't bouncy in the first place? Hm.
Though I was hesitant to say hot soup because using the lava collision like I said would be a bit extreme. I do like that idea of using little platforms and you have to time jumps, it adds more variety than just trying to steer.

Instead, why not rice blocking Dash Yoshi's path on chopsticks? There really hundreds of ideas we could use for having Dash Yoshi climb up or jump across.

Yeah, I could see that working. We could practice his dodging skills with that. This is the introduction galaxy to Dash Yoshi, so of course we'll need to introduce the mechanics like we've been suggesting, timing jumps at a high speed, dodging stuff that blocks your path, precision controls, etc. We could also have some food introducing gravity like Hightail Falls had, but on a bigger scale.

I thought the gravit was for Solar Coaster...? Oh well. Food is also nice for introducing gravity.

Gravity doesn't need to be introduced, it's a given for Galaxy games, you're introduced to it in the very first level. It's a matter of introducing using gravity in interesting ways, like Hightail Falls did with going up a wall, and RHP going in a complete loop. It's a completely different concept :P
