Why don't you try UV mapping? From what I've seen from the first screenshot, seams look ugly. Anyways, nice model, glad to see a SMG hack that is progressing.

Both planets are tests (collision).

Is that model not the first (and only) planet of Bigmouth Galaxy from SMG1? If not, it's very similar.

But the plan is a similar galaxy called Fish Cake Galaxy ^^
(Bigmouth with lava)
