Say goodbye to net neutrality and reliable internet. Yep, it's happening, the two largest cable companies are becoming one. Comcast is reportedly buying Time Warner for $45 billion
This one tweet sums up my thoughts perfectly.
"My first reaction to the Comcast/Time Warner deal is, "They really are scared that we are heading toward a world where we don't need them""

I'm using Verizon. I find it better than both.

My internet cable was broken, and Comcast said they would fix it the NEXT YEAR. Verizon fixed it the next week.

Verizon isn't /AS/ shitty but it's also one of the biggest threats. It was Comcast and Verizon that pushed the bill to allow them to charge you more for using certain sites or applications, or even certain operating systems. Have fun when they turn against you :P

I can pretty much say all these ISP's are pure shit. Here in Canada they are all shit too. What I really want is to have a fair price, no download/upload caps and high bandwidth. I don't want to settle for 30mbps while there are people in Hong Kong and Latvia enjoying super fast internet.

I'd be happy if I had 30Mbps...

It's really shit here. In theory, 2Mbps. In practice? 1.37Mbps right now. It can go down to 0.3Mbps, which is terrible, but apparently not low enough for us to be able to complain (the minimum is 0.25Mbps).

You can barely watch 360p videos on Youtube, and have to constantly force the resolution or Youtube switches to 144p.

Come on... even my friend can watch HD videos over his box's wifi connection!

30mbps is nothing compared to the 1gbps google fiber offers in some cities.
