Pretty much, people will think this tutorial is useless with a template. But, this will let you make your own SMG xml to load any sort of thing that you wish to upload.
First, open up any text editor program. The first line you want to insert would be this: <wiidisc version="1">
Declares the disc version. AFAIK, the value for that is always 1.
But, sometimes it can look like this: <wiidisc version="1" root="/riivolution">
That means that the folder will be in the riivolution folder. It's not required for proper functionality.
This is where stuff starts to change between both games. If you wish to use this for SMG1, this is the next line to insert: <id game="RMG" />
If you're using SMG2, use this one instead: <id game="SB4" />
Now it'll know which game it's going to patch over. Next up is the enable/disable choices. <options>
<section name="Super Mario Galaxy"> <option name="SMG1 Testing"> <choice name="Enabled"> <patch id="SMGTEST" /> </choice> </option> </section> </options> |

For some reason, Riivolution doesn't detect this XML and it shows up as a blank file on my computer. When I open it however, everything seems perfectly fine. May I not that this XML worked perfectly for months, until I edited it with the OS X Mavericks version of TextEdit. I tried copy/pasting it into NotePad on Windows 8 and recreating it, but it had the same problem. Is the XML too big or something? I'd appreciate it if someone could take a look at it and see what's wrong. It has provisions for 20 slots over Flip-Swap, BTW. Credit to NWP for making the first 10. Actually never mind, MrRean identified the problem on the IRC. Status: It was really, really fun, guys - thanks for the ride!
