New here... so i've managed to download SM64DSe and exported the castle grounds model... but why does SketchUp throw up an error when opening it? What can i do?

What version of SketchUp are you using? I'm able to import it into v2015.

I was using Sketchup 8, is that too old ?

I wanted to try importing the model in SMG2, since i have all the textures i need, do i need additional modelling or it'll look right anyways ?

So, just had this random idea. It would be an awesome thing to do. Sadly SketchUp gets stuck while importing the model. Also, could such a big world work in the game ?

Yes, i plan to put around Launch and Sling Stars and Dash Yoshi too. The mission would be to go around the island and find Star Chips (also in Wedge Island) to create a Launch Star which sends you on a cloud with the Power Star. Still, i can't even view the model in Sketchup, so i don't know the correct scale, and if i need additional texture mapping. It just gets stuck and never loads.

I've never tried Blender, so i don't know how it works, while with Sketchup i "tried" to make some MKW custom tracks (never got past texturing though). May i try to import it straight up in WhiteHole ?

EDIT : I know i first have to create an area using Anarchy ;)

I'll have to model in some objects, like Bridges, and underwater areas. It will be a huge hemisphere of water (Beach Bowl styled). Mii will be replaced with Toads and some enemies.

Yeah i didn't want to install an OBJ importer plugin so i exported it as DAE in SM64DSe.
I was going to import this in SMG2 when i finished texturing and uv mapping. But i don't think i will do it.
