Actually...should there be a boss here? Probably, but which one?
Can't think of any who'd fit...well...the battleground could be a planet of lava with wide channels and pools of water, and obsidian.
But...is there supposed to be a boss here?

...seriously? Seriously? That wouldn't fit at all. This galaxy mixes WATER and LAVA together in a SINGLE STAR. Baron Brr appeared in a mono-ice theme level. And ice isn't even supposed to be here...

Uhh...this is starting to sound boring. Just Peach's Castle and surroundings...
Ooh wait, would it be possible or practical to make Star 2 a kind of sandbox with Peach's Castle as the hub, with many optional Launch Stars (maybe seperated by theme, like Launch Stars to a bee-themed galaxy being near the visiting Queen Bee) to a NPC-populated versions of many past levels, along with possibly some random levels that didn't make the cut, and possibly rematches with bosses(?) (ALL OPTIONAL)
It sounds a lot, but it would be a great way to improve Star 2, and as they're all optional...

Probably just tons of black holes (some halfway sunk into a planet), with no powerups, shaky (i.e. falling/disappearing) platforming over dark matter, insane gravity, dark matter spewing everywhere, and no enemies. Void background (is that possible?), and low ominous irregular music fading to nothing at the end.

Hmm...that might be good...but perhaps just a choice of two powerups for a few certain areas, otherwise designing the level in mind for all these powerups'll be insanely hard. The level should be huge and nonlinear, with many differently themed areas for different challenges.

"Long, road like"...It would be nice to have Chomps rolling everywhere on tracks, from side to side and dropping down and dropping off.

Huh. Skullbeti? Would it be possible to remove his cutscene and snow? Because these seem more suited to Dry Boneyard. A couple of miniature Skullbetis rolling around among the Dry Bones would look good. But is that possible?

King Kaliente is being used, I think, in Freezeflame (being battled on a ring of ice dropping from the sky, on lava).
Prince Pikante...wtf. I dunno, but I don't think he's good for this galaxy. He has a tank. Wheeling around. On ice. Can you imagine that tank wheeling around on water/lava?

Anyway, it would be best for the level to consist of many Tall Trunk trees, all squashed together, with some of those wooden platforms (with Bee Mushrooms and a way to get up to the platform from the ground every few platforms). Basically, it could be a series of hops and flights from one platform to another, using the Bee Mushroom. If Mario gets hit, he would fall down (losing the Bee Mushroom), and have to get to the nearest platform able to be reached from the ground.
Maybe just a half of the level...?

Huh. Would the lava waves, if not fixed, just rise up from the lava and go rippling off the surface or something? Are the lava waves a different object from the lava?
Anyway, WHITEHOT. Spammage of anything fire/lava related. Possibly, for Star 1, 5 Silver Stars on the main planet, each with a bunch of different enemies guarding it, like Magmaarghs, Magmaws, Burn Bits/Lil Cinders, Podoboos and Fire FLUDDs/fire shooters + firebars.

Eh. Possibly what's really slowing down progress is that only a few official designs are close to being finished or approved. Maybe because of this uncertainty between who's designing what, and their status. (people reserving designs...)
I know they can't be rushed, but all designs are just incomplete, unconfirmed, or halfway done.
...I dunno, but it might help if a few more designs were finished and approved.

Yes, I was thinking of loads of huge trees, with Bee Mushroom flight, bouncing and platforming to reach wooden platforms. Paragoombas, Choppahs and others in the air. If Mario gets hit and/or falls down, he'll have to find a way back up without the Bee Mushroom. With woodeb platforms serving as "checkpoints", with some having a Bee Mushroom and several platforms reachable from the ground.

A miniature Skullbeti as an enemy, not a boss...that'd look cool, since there aren't really many skeletal enemies in 3D. Plus Sorbetti is...unlikely to be used...

Umm...all powerups? I mean, it would be hard to design an area with the Rainbow Star, Fire Mario, Boo Mario...you get the idea. Some would totally break the area.

Kuribo64 doesn't really get many new active members often. Plus, the active level designers we do have are "reserving" quite a few levels each. It causes quite a bit of confusion over whether a level's being designed/reserved. Especially if the designer has been inactive/busy for a while (Astroluma...). It would be nice to have a thread listing the current designer of each level.

Yeah...hard to find new contributors. The old board had an advantage of being famous (it's the freaking 2nd choice in Google in a search for "Super Mario Galaxy"). There was a new member every few days. Now...focusing a project has its disadvantages...
Anyway, are any designs actually being worked on (by that I mean the actual design. Not reserving it), and are close to being finished?
