I have been using White Hole for a while now, but myself and a few friends of mine outside the site had the idea on wanting to have a Chance Cube to feature Bowser Emblems on all six sides. With very special thanks to Galaxy-Hacker, NWPlayer123 and Marionumber1 for helping on putting this idea I had in mind together, we were able to bring that thought into reality. This is my very first ASM hack I've done, with the help of three friends.
Introducing you the "Bowser Chance Cube" item. Or otherwise you can call it: "Negative Chance Cubes," "Danger Cubes," "Chaos Cubes" or just simply "Bowser Cubes." We did ASM hacking with the Chance Cube item, which in the object directory is the "ItemDice" file. Originally it had 2 sides of a 1-up mushroom, a coin and a Bowser Emblem respectively. But we were able to change the texture of the model to have all six sides have Bowser Emblems, changed the functions so it would always spawn a Goomba and an ActionSound arc file has been placed in the AudioRes folder, so the sound would be correct when it lands on the Bowser Emblem. And after going through several tests to get it right and perfected, we have successfully pulled this one off. Here's a download of the .zip file. But keep in mind that it will only work on NTSC copies (North America and Japan) of the game. https://kuribo64.net/get.php?id=rNWKLPmu0BaPh4T1 UPDATE 1: The hack also works in PAL versions. NWPlayer123 said it, himself UPDATE 2: It turns that out that regardless if which Chance Cube you spin (even if it's the ones spinned at Starship Mario that has the 1-ups and star-bits), it still has the Bowser roar, due to the ActionSound arc file taking place. We might need to see if we can address this, so that way, only the "ItemDice" object that's affected by this texture and function hack can have the sound activated on that. |

Not sure. Need to check with the others. I was warned that most of these hacks are only for NTSC format.
But you can still try and see if it works on your end. |

And after all that, we were able to successfully pull it off. |

This seems rather interesting. Hopefully, this can come in some sort of use in the future if I want to ever make a new galaxy at my own leisure. |

Me and Galaxy-Hacker were working on another texture hack tonight for Super Mario Galaxy 2. This time, he helped me customize a Mario hat and pretty much change it into a different type. I changed the color to Light Blue and was successfully able to replace the M Emblem with a Yoshi Egg Emblem. All it needs now is a small red feather on top in the front and it'll be given that style of a hat you'd see in bands and what have you, which is why I gave it that nickname. I know it's a little unusual for a hack, but at least I want to get somewhere.
Is there any way that can be done to customize a red feather onto the hat? I mean, it may be impossible, but it can be worth a try. And another thing. I'd also like to try to get the customized hat to fit on Yoshi's head. But is there any way possible that can be done to have him wear it via ASM hacking? We'd have to edit Yoshi's model via importing and thus add in the hat, but I am not sure how that can work. Please see if you can help us out here. We'll gladly appercicate it. |

How is it possible to edit the BDL file of the hat on BMDView? Or do you have to use another program for that? |

Unless if I was to use a program that exports 3DS files and use some program like Google Sketchup to make the feather. Would that work? |

How must I export the file as a .3DS file? |

Alright. What do I next to add in the feather on Blender? |

I'm gonna need help on this.
Or what if someone got the feather model from Super Mario 64 DS and colored it red and was able to import that as a .3ds file? |

Can someone please import the feather model object from Super Mario 64 DS, use textures to change the color feather red and then export that as a .3ds file so it can be used on Blender or Google Sketchup? So that way, we can put the feather in front of the hat for Yoshi to wear? |

OK for an update, Galaxy-Hacker was able to draw a red feather on Google Sketchup and have it attached onto the Yoshi parade hat for the Yoshi model for him to wear. But now we got new issues. Due to a lack of the bones in the Yoshi model, there is no animation for the Yoshi model AT ALL other than this "totem pole" pose. The textures are rather messy a bit too now.
When Mario or Luigi hops on Yoshi in which now Yoshi has his hat included, your character would disappear with just Yoshi alone. He moves and does all his actions with no animations at all. Using Yoshi's togune also makes weird stretched up textures appear briefly too. He's just stuck in that same pose when he's in action. Shadows also flicker all over the place like crazy. And when you jump off Yoshi, you'll mostly teleport to other places around the galaxy. I think it's beyond creepy and having that is like you're controlling some sort of creepy totem pole ragdoll puppet. And this really needs to be addressed. We want the Yoshi to be exactly the same as he normally is, in the actual game, just with the parade hat on his head. Is there any suggestions that we can do to solve this? Some say it's impossible, but with enough knowledge and capacity, anything is possible. |

Goodness, man. I am quite sure that there should be another way to fix this solution.
I tested the hack myself and noticed these problems. And I think what we need to do is copy the animation poses and such, with the hat included and merge it with the original model via coding? If I am not mistaken? |

If that's the case, then I guess this is the first time we're doing such thing that involves looking into animations. |

I guess we'll have to get a plugin for Blender or Google Sketchup and hope to see that it can fix the problems along with the texture fixes, while at the same time, keeping the hat on Yoshi.
May be hard to paste the hat in the Real Yoshi's SHP1 section, but it can be worth a try. We will have to test the waters and play by ear to hope and pray that it works without crashing. Let's get onto it. |
