Granted. The end of the world is next year.

I wish I wasn't so horrifyingly demented.

Granted. But you lose your soul.

I wish I could understand Spanish.

Edit: I added quote due to page break

If you're going for the N64 charm, I'd go for that high pitched voice that Luigi had in his early days. Use the Japanese voice, or just increase the pitch of Mario's standard voice clips.

The first two Smash Bros. games blatantly re-used Mario's voice clips with a higher pitch for Luigi.

I completely disagree with this. Also using smash bros. Is kinda a lost argument. Because not only did melee come out after a lot of games that had luigi's modern voice. But smash bros. 64 also came out after Mario kart 64 which had Luigi's modern voice also. So no it was most likely were lazy.

If you want me to help I can put forth effort for a modern luigi voice mod.

Edit:
Also by using the argument that modern Luigi won't work because it's new is not N64 standard.
He still has the same voice actor since ages (Same as Mario in fact).

If you really want to have it sound like N64ish port the voice from Super Mario 64 DS. If you need the rip I'll provide it.

So I decided to make this thread, Because it's out in japan and it comes out in the US tomorrow (and Europe?)

So post your course ID here so we can enjoy your fine level!

Comparison between Mario and Luigi

Also when you patch the rom like it's suppose to and extend it up to 64mb for use with the level importer, it kills the title screen. So you either have to replace it (which only got a black screen for me but didn't crash) or disable it. Can you create a patch that is compatiable with the level importer fully? (Everything else works fine once you get past the broken title screen)

Also can you release a version that doesn't have the modified voice acting? I want to replace the voice acting with modern luigi's voice acting but looking into it, it seems you modified the playback to play at a higher pitch and left the samples alone.

Found the problem, what version of the level importer are you using?

1.9.3S

Title is still broken.

It keeps saying unable to detect microcode settings.

But that's with if I turn all the level importer patches on (the ones that you need to patch it with in order to get level importer support)

I get different results depending how far I go.

If I only extend it to 64mb and nothing else. The graphics plugin I am using will throw errors every frame but If I skip past all of them (which takes a while) the game will continue on like normal. (Edit: and by normal I mean NORMAL apparently i'm mario still.)

Attempting with a 24mb rom does the same.

Edit 2: Maybe add multiple patch versions for people?

Like model and HUD textures only for those who want to make a completely new SM64 adventure off of it.

Same as above but with the voice pitch edits for those who don't want to edit the voice.

Same as above but with the modified title for those who just want vanilla SM64 only with your luigi.

I have no clue as to why your title screen is crashing. Maybe do everything but the title on the rom size you usually use and then using the current level import. use that to import your title model and then make a patch of it?

It should. Because the model worked fine with the original patch, it was only the title screen that broke for me.

I would be really grateful if you upload one.

A better question, is there anyway to apply the star road patch to a sm64 rom with this Luigi model already patched in, or vice versa? I'm just looking for any way to play through Star Road with this Luigi model. Thanks in advance.

Only way would be to have Cjes to import the model himself.

R4i RTS works.

Also if you are 9.2 you install a cia that removes some checks enabling many flash cards to work again that were patched out. (doesn't add support to any flash cards that were blocked on the very first firmware though.

To test making bcstm I made a bcstm of Darude Sandstorm.

Working Shine effect (It's just a wahwah effect instead of a gold chime).

No Leaf beats though.

Also don't know how to loop properly so it just loops back to the start.

I wonder how many tilesets the game can hold. Unique tileset for every level?
