I'm not really much of a movie person myself. For most movies, if I've seen it, I'll get bored midway through. Anyways, here's some shows I've been watching lately:
Rick and Morty Funny animated sci-fi show. Doesn't stream on Netflix, though, so you'll have to find another service if that's what you use. Attack on Titan - Click at your own risk, there may be spoilers in the sidebar. The first anime I'm trying out. Great story, animation is beautiful. And can we talk about the music (These shouldn't be too spoilery as long as you don't look at the comments.)? S1 is streamable on Netflix, everything else you can watch on Crunchyroll. Rocko's Modern Life Great 90's cartoon, it's super funny and the animation is, well, really cartoony. Houses and roads don't have to be straight lines like they are IRL, in this show, they can just be bouncy curves with no definite shape, and it illustrates why I love 90's animation. I'm super hyped for the reboot movie, the preview of it looks great. Also, this show is where my avatar comes from. It's a great scene: ____________________ Website | Twitter |

WHAT. Well that's news to me, wonder if you could get around that with a VPN?
Oh yeah, that reminds me. Futurama is another great show, that you used to be able to watch all of on Netflix. However, now, all Fox produced episodes are gone, which is, like, half of the series. From what I've heard this isn't really Netflix's fault, but just Fox being annoying. ____________________ Website | Twitter |

Posted by Liamade The message specifically tells you what to do. It's there for a reason. Posted by Liamade Have patience. Not everyone that looks at the forums is familiar with Pokemon 3DS modding, or even modding in general. ____________________ Website | Twitter |

Hey everyone. There's something that has been pointed out to me that I feel needs to be addressed.
For any new people that don't know, I'm a 3DS/Wii U enthusiast. I started posting to these forums in 2015, when I was about 13. Previously, I had played around with Advanced Map with the GBA Pokemon games, and I joined these forums because I was interested in NDS hacking as well. At this point, this was past the end of the last iteration of the SMG 2.5, but the forums was a welcoming place for gaining and sharing knowledge about ROM hacking, as well as having casual conversations about video games. In 2016, I became a part of the Citra moderation team, and would continue to be a part of it until late last year (for personal reasons - the folks over there were, and still are, an absolute pleasure to work with.), because I was interested in the 3DS. I still engaged with these forums because it was a wonderful community. Over these two years, I also started learning how to program. Coming from a background of using many game editors and emulators, I admired these developers a lot. In particular, I always looked up to Arisotura because she has the ability to do these things, and I also liked the way that this board was ran. Later on, the serious discussion sub-forum was opened up here. After the SMG era of this board, and then the 3DS/Wii U era, I feel that this marks the beginning of a new time where this is less of a ROM hacking board, and, really, chiefly a political discussion board. I must stress that that isn't the issue. Introducing new components to a board isn't a problem. It's sad to see ROM hacking on the decline here, but if Arisotura wants to adjust the scope of discussion, then that's still her discretion. This did, however, become an issue for me when, in late 2016, PaperplateismGuy was banned. In this thread, a heated debate took place, in which Arisotura banned the user because of their opinion. I honestly don't really know or care about what the specifics of this debate are, it still rubs me off the wrong way regardless, and this was in fact met with a decent amount of backlash. I believe that Arisotura did end up apologizing for this and unbanning them, but I feel that this is worth mentioning. As these forums shifted further and further away from ROM hacking, I lost interest. As previously stated, there's nothing inherently wrong with this, because in response to this I just stopped using the forums. At this point, I still had respect for Arisotura and her works, and followed updates on her projects like melonDS, although the previous events did make me feel uneasy. This now brings us to 2019, and the reason why I am writing this reply. Recently, Arisotura came out as a girl, and started a GoFundMe for laser hair removal surgery. This is fine, I support the rights of trans people. However, this Twitter thread was brought to my attention. I will start by saying that, yes, I do not necessarily agree with Gimzie's initial reply, as making that kind of response to a tweet sharing a donation link is fairly uncalled for. However, the replies to this tweet aren't right. I won't go too deep into this interaction, but it came off as really rude for me personally. I was also informed, however, that Gimzie was banned for this reason, and their ban reason is:
Banning someone for an interaction on another platform and using namecalling like this just doesn't sit well with me. Having explained all of this, I want to make something abundantly clear. This is not an expose post! I am not "exposing" Ariso, or however you want to phrase it. The reason why I am making this post is that, personally, this was very disappointing for me. Kuribo64 was my first interaction with the online technology community, and I had respected them from the start, so to be seeing this now is upsetting for me. ____________________ Website | Twitter |

I'm glad that you're taking this serious look at the future of the board. I pretty much agree with everything that has been said so far, that, as a general discussion board, Kuribo64 can't really be what it once was. Having said that, it's been an amazing run. The fact that this board has seen two iterations of hacking scenes over 6 years is remarkable. Another factor (kinda indirectly) stated is that, the traditional idea of a "forum" is a dying breed. Taking a quick look at board2 and Kafuka, they seem to be doing alright-ish, and then most other boards of this kind have died out. Unfortunately, I'm inclined to say that this not as much of the game scenes themselves dying, but just the idea of these boards losing traction, with the most board-y forums being out there being Discourse.
Discourse, in my experience, is smooth and easy to use. But it still lacks the feeling of using a board, and having the stability of easily seeing all of the threads, and deleted posts. K64's board software is, easily, the most intuitive and fast forum I've ever used, which I'm going to miss. To touch upon the more sentimental stuff I mentioned in my original reply, even if it doesn't appeal to me anymore, these forums still do mean a lot to me. If they do go, then it would be sad to see, but it's been a great run regardless. ____________________ Website | Twitter |

Posted by thesadtruth Initially I was gonna oppose this for being too broad, because every broad Nintendo discussion board has since fallen. Ariso is an actual competent board owner though, so hey maybe? Posted by thesadtruth Oh see so I just went to the board2 index (knowing nothing about it besides the fact that it exists - not even what it actually is) and saw posts from yesterday and assumed it was doing alright without noticing that they're spam. Posted by thesadtruth Eh I feel like, if this is went with, at that point the K64 identity should be kept. I realize that this reply is slightly contradictory to what I've already said. I change my mind about what I said about forums, that they haven't completely lost their place, and forums still do have a place on the internet. ____________________ Website | Twitter |

A couple years ago, I made a return to K64 to make a charged post about drama I had been upset by. I would like to reflect upon that, this thread, and recent events.
I would like to address my thoughts on the scope of the board - then, I complained about the increased politicization of some parts of it. I joined K64 when I was young, 12-years-old-young. In some ways I probably did mature during my active years, but my most significant growth has occurred after the fact. To put it into perspective, it seems that I stopped being active right before I started high school. The later post was made less than halfway through my high school experience. Since then, I've gained a profound appreciation for history, civil rights, and political issues. I'm more engaged now in politics than ever before, and encourage others to do the same. Although I respect the viewpoint expressed in my point - that of declining to take interest in politics - I do discourage it, because politics are essential. I firmly believe it's important to be educated on these issues, regardless of whether you are part of a minority group that is more likely to be impacted by them. Now, about PaperplateismGuy's ban. To someone with an apolitical background, which is the perspective from which the post was written, it is easy to write off harsh disagreements with the mentality that everyone is entitled to their own opinion (see: "it's a free country"). This attitude deeply frustrates me when used to defend or dismiss really bad ideas, and I was surprised to see it coming from myself here. There's a separate discussion to be had about the nature of these types of bans, one which is taking place in this thread, but I must apologize for my lack of sensitivity then. I said myself, "I honestly don't really know or care about what the specifics of this debate are," which in itself characterizes why I'm disappointed with this post. My words on Gimzie rival this, wherein I remark "I won't go too deep into this interaction, but it came off as really rude for me personally." Once more, there's a lack of willing to understand the nuance of the issue. To revisit a quote from the OP in this thread: Posted by ArisoturaAs the ineluctable transphobe-to-trans pipeline goes, I have also had some changes since then. I was explicit in my support for trans rights in my post, but I made little to no effort to empathize with your struggles as a trans person. Instead, I prioritized defending Gimzie, and attemptted to view the situation regardless of your status as a member of the LGBT community - e.g. not refusing to fault trans people just because of them being trans. With that, and with the realization I've had in the past years, I offer you my belated empathy, and my sincere apology for not understanding then. Now, I would like to elaborate on my thoughts on admiration. I have not said anything regretful on this topic, but I feel the need to weigh in, because of recent events. There are a lot of people that I look up to, whose work I have admired over the years. Near comes to mind first, for obvious reasons. Regrettably, I took an interest in their work after they had to start upholding a strict standard of not oversharing on social media. Nevertheless, their dedication to clean, good C++ emulation code is incredible to me. The members of Citra team were the first people I had the opportunity to work side by side with, and had the respect of a team member, which I'll never forget feeling for the first time. The Wii sceners, especially marcan, delroth, MrBean35000VR and Chadderz, I have not spoken to, but my admiration for them runs equally deep. Arisotura was the first person of this kind for me, that introduced me to wanting to know how to write emulators and editors. I don't mean for this to be a sappy post, but, despite what I said in my post, this distinct feeling of respect for her is something that I have carried through the years. I can keep naming people and teams that I look up to, but my point is that they've all had a big impact on me. In closing, as I reminisce on the losses we have endured, I would like to accent the value of human life. To Arisotura, in particular, I wish to emphasize the positive impact of your presence here, in spite of the transgressions you pointed out in the OP. ____________________ Website | Twitter |

Here we are, Windows 11!
Some things we know so far: System Requirements The system requirements for W11 are posted here, with a couple of notable aspects:
User Interface The look of the UI skin is being updated with translucent windows. The start menu has been redesigned, accessible from the now (forcibly, currently mandatory) centered taskbar. Windows Subsystem for Android Based on Windows Subsystem for Linux, Windows Subsystem for Android (WSA) allows for running Android apps on Windows, with support for sideloading APKs. WSA is one of a few ways in which they are continually pushing the Windows Store. Gaming Windows 11 provides support for "Auto HDR" for better colors, and DirectX 12 Ultimate, what seems to be a variation of the D3D12 API but with guarantee of some enhancements such as raytracing. This is everything I'm aware of off the top of my head - I realized we don't yet have a W11 thread, so there we go. There's more details released, of course, but these are most of the ones that people are talking about. If you want to see it for yourself, there's an early leaked build ISO out there - by now, you can also try it legitimately through the Windows Insider program. WSA is pretty cool, and the new UI looks nice, although I know the centered taskbar is going to cause a storm if it stays un-changeable. The TPM and CPU requirements are going to be even more rough, if those stay the way they are. If this is the case, then perhaps the migration to W11 will be of a much smaller scale than that of W11 or W10. In general, there looks to be little pressure on users to switch - perhaps MS will push an advertising campaign within the W10 OS for users to migrate? ____________________ Website | Twitter |
