What if somebody created an ASM hack that makes Flame shooters work in SMG2 as well as Eye Beamers, cataquacks, etc. (I know. It takes quite a while.)

That's not a hack, that's porting shit from one game to another. Blue-Tora's problem was easy because all you had to do was remove functionality.

I can tell you it's most definitely compressed somehow. All files seem to start with an index for sections. The first 4 bytes are the number of section offsets that follow.
For example, read the next 6C (108) entries and those are your offsets to all the sections.

I can also document text. After the section data for it, each section starts with another counter for each offset into the strings. All strings seem to start with 00FF00FF which I assume is either some kind of flags or a way to find where a string ends when reading the file.

I think you should start with trying to find a header. What is the exact size of the file? its most likely written in the header somewhere, atleast for most files it is.

As far as I remember it's just pure data. Of course I didn't look into it very much other than staring at it, but...

Hmmm... I have another issue: I increased the game's Star count to 242 + 25 + 24 = 291... but the game crashes ON THE FILE SELECT SCREEN!!!

Can someone help me figure out why?

EDIT: My "hack" only crashes if I point to any of the files on the file select screen... Why?

Probably because you messed up editing text.

You said it broke when you went from 288 to 291 so that should narrow it down to 3 stars.

There once was a fourth Bowser battle as there is a string in the dol that says KoopaVs4.

Actually that's most likely the space part of the final battle. Very rarely is unused stuff in the DOL like that.

Look; I know many of you are showing me hex and stuff, but that is not helping me achieve modding Mario Party 4-8.

I'm hearing "please do everything for me so I only have to copy and paste files into different programs". If you couldn't tell most people here don't care enough to do it for you, the most we're going to do is give you said hex because that's how you edit files. Not everything's going to have a magical program to do it for you.

Because it depends on the game. .bin is just a binary file, it's not going to be the same in every game, Mario Party versus Wind Waker versus Chibi Robo. Someone would have wanted to specifically hack Mario Party games to have made tools to extract bin files from that game, and based on how you're the only one ever posting about it I'd guess you're the only person who cares, and thus no tools would have been made.

It's not "Gamecube .BIN files" it's "Mario Party .BIN files"
