Granted, but their stats would be much worse and they would ALWAYS get the nickname "FAG" (Which means you can't trade them or use them online).

Hmm. if this is going to have both a musical theme and a rolling course like the one in Melty Molten, then maybe we can remake Melody Motorway from MK7 (or make something similiar)?. We'll of course put bouncy ramps at the sharp corners and remove some things :

I remember that..... someone managed to have Mario throw Hammers (most likely MN1, NWP or Rean) and posted a picture of it at Proboards, so if it's possible to make him throw Hammers then I don't see why he can't throw Ice Balls (only problem is that Ice Balls aren't in the game, so we'd have to retexture the Fireballs).

Maybe the ice balls could simply have the same effect as fireballs? (other then that they're not Fire and can't be used to ignite torches DUR). Anyway if he isn't invulnerable maybe we could have a segment with Flying Mario where you get chased by Bullet Bills and have to fly through multiple lava archs/paths and avoid cannonballs or something? Yeah. I actually think it's pretty obvious that the game will feature something about chromosomes and/or fusing. Just look at the small DNA Helix in the Japanese logo:
