I got my finger stuck in a desk at school when I was 10. (grade 5, I think?)
Let's just say it was pretty embarrassing. |

If you infinite-flutter using Yoshi to the slide in the first star of Tall Trunk Galaxy in SMG2 (when it would normally be accessed in the second star) and try to go down the slide, the game will freeze. |

Posted by SunakazeKun Strangely, that's never happened to me. Maybe it has to do with people grabbing a ledge right as they get the blue coin or something. |

Driving terrifies me, I have a tendency to panic easily because I usually feel out-of-control...and because of that I have a preference for manual, but good luck finding one in the US that isn't an old truck, especially in small towns like mine. |

Posted by StapleButter That too. I need to get a dashcam and start making compilations like this person: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YssLJPxlQMk (I don't live there, just the first video I found). I'm also the definition of "backseat driver". |

Posted by MeTheMarioMan Oh yes, the south of the USA and its crazy-early school start dates. I'm so glad I don't live there anymore. |

Posted by StapleButter Maybe it has to do with the writing system, as South Korea has a similar writing system and also uses IE a lot. Then again, maybe not. IE is also the most used in Liechtenstein and Isle Of Man. |

Posted by Yami By "similar writing system" I meant using characters as opposed to the Latin alphabet. Writing systems may have varying support and rendering quality of such characters and so may affect browser choice in some countries. |

That isn't all that's going on, either. This presidential election has been absolutely insane in every way possible. I'm seriously considering trying to move somewhere else after I graduate from high school. |

USA needs a complete political overhaul. Abolish the Electoral College. Make voting mandatory a la Australia so that the elected officials actually represent what the majority of the people want instead of the wishes of the 40%-ish who actually vote. Make it a nonpartisan democracy. Maybe even make political parties illegal. George Washington (first American president) in his final address to the nation warned people not to form political parties as it would only divide them.
He's not turning in his grave right now, he's spinning as if in a blender. We need social democracy - completely free capitalism is just asking for the rich to get richer and the poor to get poorer...then the rich take power in government...then suddenly, oligarchy. I think it should be a system similar to the Nordic countries. There's a reason Norway is probably the best country in the world to live in right now. I'm going to stop now before this post turns into a rant. |

Posted by Yami It was only a theory, I didn't say I was in any way confident at all in that. I was just throwing an idea out there. But to answer your question: North Korea doesn't use IE because there are very people or in the country who even have access at all and they're probably using some special Kim Jong-Un approved browser or something. China also has limited internet, although nowhere nearly as limited as North-Korea, obviously. As for the others, who knows. Even I thought the writing systems idea was ridiculous as I was making that post, I only pointed it out because no one had any other ideas. |

Posted by StapleButter Yes, it is obvious over here. Weather has been crazy over here the past few years. Here are the past five summarized: 2011: Extreme snowstorm hits eastern coast in February Largest outbreak of tornados ever recorded (25-28 April) Unusually warm summer across much of the country Winter 2011-2012 was one of the warmest winters ever recorded in the USA 2012: Drought becomes noticeable in California Massive heatwave in June and July breaking many temperature records USA's hottest year on record when temperatures are averaged across the entire country Winter 2012-2013 is mostly normal, but starts late and very abruptly. Also ends very suddenly. 2013: Snowstorm in the first week of MAY causes as much as 45cm of snow to fall in some areas (very rare outside of mountains here for those who don't know) Very quiet tornado season Very quiet hurricane season California drought continues Winter 2013-2014 was one of the coldest and snowiest in modern history in the eastern half of the country, and one of the warmest and driest in modern history in the western half of the country. 2014: Even quieter tornado season Even quieter hurricane season Very cool summer in the eastern half of the country, very hot and dry in the western half California drought continues, State of California's warmest year on record across the state Winter 2014-2015 was very similar to 2013-2014, but with slightly less snow and slightly more extreme cold, with the exception of December which was extremely warm and dry across most of the country, breaking many temperature records. 2015: Summer tornado season was initially very quiet but suddenly became very intense Hurricane season was initially very quiet but suddenly became very intense, eventually leading to Hurricane Patricia, second-strongest tropical cyclone ever, destroying the western coast of Mexico California drought continues, although improving slightly Winter 2015-2016 was extremely warm and dry, though not as much as 2011-2012, with the exception of one MASSIVE snowstorm in late January that resulted in as much as 60cm of snow falling in some areas, then melting within days. 2016: Extremely unusual tornado outbreak in February in the southeast part of the country Massive rainstorms in Northern California in March, but doesn't have much effect on the drought Very hot summer, in fact it is 34C (93F) outside now right as I type this...two days before the official start of autumn Slightly quieter than usual tornado season overall with the exception of February...which isn't even part of the normal season California drought improving slightly but still very severe Hurricane season started off quietly but suddenly became very active in the past month To be continued... |

PEOPLE WHO USE NO TURN SIGNALS. GAH.
In other news, I hate driving with a passion but am forcing myself to learn because I live in a small town far from actual stuff in the most car-dependent country on Earth. |

Posted by StapleButter It's been happening more and more frequently the past few years. Police are becoming less and less well-liked here, that is for certain. At least, less well-liked outside of my tiny conservative-ass town |
