J3DBmt is a tool to import and export data between BMD and BMT formats. BDL models can be used as well. This tool was originally created to make things easier when importing models from Super Mario Sunshine, as the BMT format doesn't seem to work for the Super Mario Galaxy games. Basically, BMT files store the actual materials and textures that are used for the model; the data in the BMD files are placeholders. The source code and downloads can be found on the Github repo: https://github.com/SunakazeKun/J3DBmt

To extract material data from a model file, use
J3DBmt.jar -e inbmd.bmd outbmt.bmt

If you want to import material data into a model file, use
j3DBmt.jar -i inbmd.bmd inbmt.bmt outbmd.bmd

If you can use batch files, you won't have any problems using this tool... Well, if you want, you can provide a batch file.

Ah yeah. There are more variables like this. $i# is used for items, $f# for floors, ... There's a complete article on text formatting available on Datacrystal.

Sounds like the stuff they say about shooter games and the players becoming spree killers (I hope that's the correct term, heh).

Look at the object database. It tells you how it's set up.

It saves data from BMD/BDL files to BMT files and vice-versa. This is useful when porting models from Super Mario Sunshine. Some models in that game use an extra BMT file to load the materials. This doesn't seem to work in SMG, though.

I joined this place when I ran into problems with the objects TwisterSan and SunakazeKun (SMG modding, for anybody who's wondering what I'm talking about). The latter one explains why I chose this username. :)

The exit point is optional. You have to use the warp point to determine where the porter teleports you to.

Hmm, that means something is missing, like a file or anything. Keep in mind that the Ice Power-Up is very limitted. I wanted to add Lil' Cinders to Sweet Treat Galaxy, but they freeze (ironic) the game when touching the ice platforms.

No, there are no "newer" versions. There's only one version. Also, this shouldn't be related to SMG2 only. I think these problems exist in SMG1 as well.

Yes, most Pokemon hacking tutorials are outdated and it takes a while to get something to work.

Have you tried experimenting with Pokémon Essentials? It's not ROM hacking, it's a collection of scripts and files to create fangames in RPG Maker XP. ^^ You can also find some modifications to it that are inspired by the second and fifth generations.

Make a new path somewhere and save & close. Re-enter and the parameters panel DOESN'T go past Path Argument 3 when you select the path.

I can't fix something that I can't replicate.

Quick question: what's the difference between gravity scale and gravity range?

I don't know that much about gravity areas, sorry. I made very few tests; the gravity rendering is experimental.
