Yes. It doesn't damage your original copy of SMG in any way.

So I can still play Galaxy 1 and 2 afterwards? And my wii still works?

Of course, why would it do anything? All it's doing is looking at it, it does the same thing when you play it. All the stuff that's going on is on the SD card.

If you have both you should use Letterbomb to be able to use homebrew on the Wii.
You should also put a program called SMG Extractor in a folder called apps on the SD card.
You should be able to run that on the homebrew channel then after you have used Letterbomb.
If you don't know how to use letterbomb just look up "Letterbomb wii" on youtube and you should find enough tutorials.
SMG Extractor should dump all files in a folder on the SD card which you can use for editing (in your case replacing).
And if you are using dolphin to play the game you should also look at this thread.

Thank you so much! Should I just get the files from Galaxy 2 or both 1 and 2? I have both disc but my galaxy 1 disk is scratched so that the opening cuteness won't play but everything else works.

If you have the latest version (4.3, should say in the wii settings), yeah. The letter may be back a day (is for me) but it's there and it works, given you have the correct MAC Address.

I do have the correct MAC adress because I used to get Riivolution on my Wii before!

Instead of a Bowser boss battle, how about a Bowser Jr. boss battle/galaxy? That way we can show off that we can make a custom boss battle just like how the dragon boss in world 1 is unique. I have an idea for a Bowser Jr. level that involves flip-switches and the red star.

Okay. My idea for a boss is whereyou above a lava lake and there are four pillars that you have to ground pound on. Meanwhile the boss attacks you from going to pillar to pillar. Maybe Gulburt or whatever that dragon is called could attack you? However the fact that he does the downward lunge into the dirt wouldn't work when your on flip-switches in the air. Oh well, maybe you can just hit the pillars avoiding enemies sort of like star road's you have to kill the piranha plants?

Can we make cut-scenes? I am pretty sure we can't I am just making sure. ;) If we can't can we change dialogue in already made cut-scenes?

Also can we take bosses from galaxy one like the Bowser Jr. airship boss and import it into Galaxy 2?

Finally is it possible to program the boss to die in a different way then in the game? Such as hitting all the pillars in my idea will trigger the boss to die, even though in galaxy 2 you killed a certain boss a different way. Sorry if I sound stupid. ;)

This is helpful! I'll see what I can do for my Bowser Jr. level. It's going to have a boss, but not really. You just have to ground pound on some pillars with enemies everywhere. If we ever end up learning how to make our own bosses then I will change the boss.

Meh, if we can make things move (albeit with one bone animation), I have four ideas already on how to make bosses: You just take old bosses and make them work in new ways.

EX: I don't know if this would work, but if you can crush people with moving platforms, just turn Peewee pirahna on his butt (assuming that traps him), trapped in the sand pit from Fluzzard, and retexture him to look like he's a sand Pirahna plant, then you just have vines come out of the ground (they'd be 1 bone, but they'd crush you under the leaves on the end). Have some enemies spawn to make it more difficult. When you get close, you smash the egg part, which barely emerges from the ground. As usual, he'll die after a few hits.

The problem is, how to get mario away from that. If you have invisible walls, you might be able to just blast mario out with some cleverly placed ones, but that would require a way of triggering events when the boss is at certain health (can we do that?), and has a possibility of dislodging peewee.

Another problem is that it is too easy to get to the egg, just float into the center and wham. So, if it is possible, you could close 2-5 leafy "blast doors" made out of portions of a dome cover the underside, and be synced with his attacks. If it is possible to make them damage you on touch, that would also be good.

Course, the event coding would be difficult, and this is just assumptions based on what NW said was possible.

That is a cool idea, but I am not sure it is possible. I hope somebody with more knowledge responds. Maybe in my pillar idea, I could have a boss from some galaxy like the dragon, and re-texture it, and you will have to avoid it when ground-pounding on the pillars. Another idea I had for the boss is the gigantic Bowser fight, but have the red star and you have to find the meteorites while flying around. But your idea sounds cool! When you said sand pit with fluzzard, I assume you mean the sand boss and not the bird Fluzzard?

Other than that, with a lot of work, that idea might be able to be pulled off without ASM.

If we can use boss health to trigger things that could be great! Also can we create our own animations? And I am assuming we can't make our own cut-scenes but can we change the words in a already made cut-scene?

Wow that looks awesome! I can't wait to play on it! I have only started using Blender so I would of never have been able to make anything that good! Is this for the demo or just a custom galaxy for fun?
