So I would use OBJ2BDL to convert the obj file? Will that make the KCL also? Or am I missing something. I've been reading and searching for a while but can't find the info... |

Ok, I will try it out. Thanks!
Edit: I am having a hell of a time. I cannot for the life of me get obj2bdl to work, be it in galaxy tools or otherwise. Galaxy Tools lies to me telling me my file was converted, but no files seem to go anywhere... and trying to run it through cmd leads it to tell me something is missing in the module of python? Yet I installed python fresh just recently... |

I never accused him of making a mistake... But I was hoping for some help with the issue then? I still cannot get ast converter 2.0 to even start on my machine, and a loop point other that 0 00 000 for both start and end results in the wii freezing. |

Ok I'm feeling pretty dumb but I am not familiar with how python works really. Could you maybe explain a little more clearly? Sorry to be a bother... |

I'm sure I'm just missing something simple or typing something wrong or didn't install something right. Sorry for seeming like such a noob. :/ |

worked better, but still an error: "no module named j3d" I'm sure it's just a file that I misplaced or something trivial like that. Thanks for all the help!
Edit: Full error is: Traceback File "obj2bdl.py", line 6, in import j3d ImportError: No module named 'j3d' |

Ok I got the j3d folder correct and all, but now it's spitting out an even larger error. "C:\Python33\lib\encodings\cp1252.py", line 23, in decode return codecs. charmap_decode< input,self.errors,decoding_table>[0]

Is there anyway to add files like this in the original mario galaxy? Finally got it to convert my model but can't find the ProductMapObjDataTable.arc file... |

I just looked through almost that entire list, and I have a direct game rip...
Edit: Seems to only exist in Mario Galaxy 2... just searched my whole pc for the file and that was the only place it showed up. |

Haha well shittt. That's unfortunate as my SMG2 game is iso format only (IE no disc for riivolution) and as fun and convenient as using WIT to rebuild the iso after changing files is, it always left me with issues. |

That's even worse but I suppose for the sake of decent modding capability that will have to suffice. Thanks for all your help btw!
Edit: Just tried the fucking model in game and get a black screen, even though it said everything was fine... Edit2: |

Just another question here as it doesn't seem to be documented here and whitehole just says something along the lines of "Set direction with Priority field." I have been trying to reverse engineer it by just examining already placed gravity objects but it's very slow going and I still don't really understand what the settings really mean... |

Okay so I did all of this with a Mario Galaxy 2 iso, but since I no longer have the disc I had to use WIT to build a new iso with my added file. So I dumped all of the the game using "wit extract", replaced my files in the folders, and rebuilt it. The game itself works flawlessly, but my custom object which worked fine in whitehole, is nowhere to be found. The gravity that I added to the level works, resulting in me being caught in an infinite fall in the middle of the air... did I need to add something to the Resource file in the level folder? |

Well I added it and it still doesn't work. Not really sure what other people have been doing...
Edit: Also when I check with wiiscrubber my file is in the new iso... and it is listed in the resources |

Oooooook.... so I just downloaded anarchy for the first time... and exactly where would I see gravity? I can't find a single thing. You must think I'm stupid but oh well. |

So like if I were to make a hollow planet and then make a second model that would fill in the hollow spots with water it would render them as one placeable object in Whitehole and the water would work as water in game? |

Well I had actually found the gravity when you replied but I actually prefer to use whitehole as I can see which gravity affects which part of the planet. Although it seems frustrating because there are a lot of factors that go into the gravity, such as rotation of the placed object, as well as the priority field, scale, range... IDK. I've been trying to do little tests one at a time to reverse engineer it but I either get wonky effects or on one occasion the entire game froze as soon as I entered what I assume to be the active gravity area. Hopefully whitehole will be able to render at least the area of effect of gravity and other area controllers in the next release, although I understand that would be difficult. |
