Bumping this thread: Mariomaster, did you find anything on this in the level format?

You probably won't get any direct help from people, only advice.
Such as: have you tried CoinKiller?

Is this built form the latest source?

The levels do look nice visually, but they don't play well - unfortunately.

So, basically how [country] is now?

'easy'.

grab the VC release of the game, extract the DS ROM, diff it against the closest DS release.

The actual code/filesystem may well be the same. Just the container and emulator are different. The bugfix may be a on-the-go or runtime patch by the emulator, or just a side effect of the emulator not being entirely accurate.

Woha. Many things to do :)

Also, uh, implementing some of the sprite images would be a bad idea.
Especially the burners, the amp, the flame chomp and the sledge bro look very odd.

You can also do semi-transparent sprite images using this: https://github.com/RoadrunnerWMC/clip

Thanks for the link to that neat tool
I agree that the burners, amp and sledge bro need reworking, so I'll delete those. But what is wrong with the flame Chomp. That is its starting position for the first, second, third (etc) frame

Well newluigidev already made it but 2 is always better than 1 lol

No offence to newluigidev, but TRSs is better quality and has more tiles

only after it moves. I guess I could make a mock up image that combines the actual initial position with one that has a trail of fireballs

EDIT:

Mariomaster, could you make it so:
A. there is a way to make the sprite box appear instead of or in addiction to the sprite image (by with a setting or by deleting the sprite image png)?
B. sprite x/y pos is displayed somewhere (status bar?)

so I can make sprite images for sprites that already have them (to make images for different settings or to improve sprites)

Maybe you can fix the gravity by making the planet move instead of mario.

That doesn't actually fix the problem of it being difficult to code. The calculations are still complicated and implementing it would require large amounts of RE'ing and recoding.

Yep. From when I was on there for a while I found that the 3D Land Modding topic is used for off-topic discussion, 3D Land Modding discussion is ignored, the other topics are inactive and all the mods are inactive or bad.

I've improved on the first few levels in the newest release. If you want you can try it and tell me if it's still hard to play.

It wasn't that the levels were hard - they were very easy. They just weren't enjoyable.

1. How did you do that?
2. Do you think you could get it working in the E3 demo?
