So I've been gone for about half a year, and have returned to this website for more hacking shenanigans.
Though I've been doing tons of other stuff and excluded all SMG from my life until now. Soooo, I've pretty much forgotten everything there is. Although I've made a level before, it was not the best, but it gave me the main idea on how to make a level, so this most likely will be the only question I have. (Unless my inner idiot is released) I downloaded Python 3.4 with PyQt and created a model.(yes this is about models again ) After creating a model, I exported it by following the tutorial by NWPlayer123. But when I tried obj2bdl, I get this: C:\Python34>python.exe obj2bdl.py AtomicHillsP1.obj AtomicHillsP1.bdl Traceback File "obj2bdl.py", line 164, in textures.append File "C:\Python34\j3d\tex1.py", line 46, in _init_ raise Exception<'could not load image {}'.format Exception: could not load image AtomicHillsP1/Material1.jpg Atomic Hills is the name of my level for FYI. I don't know what to do. I feel like the stupidest person on this site XD. |

I was sort of thinking it was something like that.
But in Sketchup, the textures I used were TGA files. When exported, they turned into JPG. |

Well Gimp worked making Sketchup export a PNG, but now when I try obj2bdl, I get the same error but the last line says:
Exception: could not load image AtomicHillsP1/Material3.png |

Okay I fixed it. I had to put the textures in a folder. Blame it on being gone for a half a year?
Thanks to all who helped. |

Does anyone know how to change the curve in paths?
In other words, how do I change a straight path into a curved path for a Launch Star? |

Posted by Splitwirez Path point boxes? You mean the boxes you can click and drag? I have Windows 7 and can see and use them. |

Posted by Splitwirez I think he means that nobody cares about hacking SMG1, not the actual game. I care about it too. |

So I imported my models to Flip Swap just to test them. But I really wanted them on a different galaxy. So, I delete my already existing RedBlueExGalaxy folder and the files within, and copy another RedBlueExGalaxy folder from the files I extracted with SMGExtractor. But now, when I open Whitehole, it doesn't even show RedBlueExGalaxy on the list of galaxies to edit.
Does anyone know why? |

.......I just fiddled around with everything that had RedBlueEx on it, and apparently it appears but is at the very bottom of the list instead of being in its place in alphabetical order. Wow. |

Finished Insurgent about two weeks ago. Reading Allegiant next month. The Divergent series, in my opinion, is decent, but I have read better ones.
Personally I don't like reading, so I haven't read THAT many books. But the ones I have read are usually 300+ pages. |

Wow, this is incredible! You are definitely gifted in hacking Mario 64. What did you use to make the models?
Also, from what I can tell in the screenshots and videos, the levels look a bit large. It seems that Mario takes a bit to get from place to place. But it's pretty minor and would still be fine the way it is. Besides, you'd probably have to edit everything again to make them fit well with the new size. |

ohey I'm back. Now I have a question.
If I want to have a texture that has part of it transparent, how could I do it? In other words, if I make a 2 sided plane that has the texture of a cage, or bars with holes, all the holes show up with a black texture in the game and in whitehole. But the texture itself has transparent holes when viewed in GIMP. |

Could someone please explain areas for SMG2? I know that when you walk through or an event happens in the area, something occurs, but I'm not sure how to set them up. |

Sunakaze, I didn't mean adding zones, I meant areas like SwitchArea. I'm not sure where the object should be for it to activate the switch. |

I was referring to the SwitchArea object.
I'm not sure where I should place the SwitchArea and how to set it up to activate a switch. |
