It was I who made that video, in response to the Bob-omb Battlefield texture hack in this thread.
Desmume has a built-in function that records all of your movements and can play them back for you. I recorded my movements in Bob-omb Battlefield, and then replayed it and recorded it in both a texture hacked and non-texture hacked versions of SM64DS. |

Yesterday I picked up copies of Super Mario 64 and Banjo Kazooie at a market. They were in physically crappy condition, but had never been played. Dirt cheap, too. |

A new trailer has been uploaded!
I figured some of you guys were getting a little hungry for some real updates, so I threw this game play footage together to leave you all reassured that development of this hack is still well underway. I will reiterate that this is a long, long development process. My current estimations suggest that this hack will have over 150% of the content that was produced for New Super Mario Bros. 5: Clone Tag Team 2. So I hope you all can remain patient for the time being. For regular weekly updates, please stay tuned to the official thread at http://nsmbhd.net/, or you can follow me on Twitter @MarioFanatic64. Also relevant: a buttload of screenshots that I'm unloading to Kuribo64 for the first time:

Posted by NintendoFan Well, for one thing the first thing that happened when I started them was the game asking me to set the language/sound settings. Save files were all blank I thought at first it was from the battery too, but I tested that by getting a Star in Mario 64 and turning off the console. When I turned it back on the save file was still there. |

Posted by NintendoFan Yes, but it only asks you to set the default language when you play it for the first time. |

Posted by Fiachra Boo. That's the one thing I can't forgive about SM64DS- making the special abilities character-specific. What can I say? I main Mario in everything, which makes having to switch out characters to do one little thing a huge pain. |

Just get a bigger SD, they really aren't expensive. |

Posted by GalladeGuy There's a pretty good chance NX has some sort of home console-relation. During an interview around E3 last year, Reggie Fils-Aime was quoted as having said "we're also working on our next home console", or something to that effect. |

Story is lacklustre, gameplay is lacking variety, there's no pacing, not a single unique character, no decent sidequests, and only about half the content as any other M&L game, they just added a bunch of filler "catch the Paper Toads" segments to stretch out the game's length. It was clearly rushed and low-budget.
Still had a blast though. |

Yesterday I found an odd-looking N64 controller that I got for $4 out of curiosity. Turns out I just bought a Famiclone. |

I was a little bummed that it seems to bring back all the worst aspects about Sticker Star, but it did convince me to replay Sticker Star and I've got to say, Sticker Star plays better than I remember. And GameXplain's analysis makes me feel as if this one will definitely be better than Sticker Star.
So I'm gonna be hopeful on this one. |
