Star 1 - Silver Stars In The Sewers
Mario lands on a large open planet, about the size of Starshine Beach. Around him, there are many half-built buildings with scaffolds that Mario can climb. On top of the buildings, there are coins, starbits and 1ups for Mario to grab. On the ground there are construction materials like bricks and pipes. In one of the pipes Mario will find a life mushroom. In each of the four corners of the planet, there are four pipes, each leading to a differnet section of the under-construction sewer system. Pipe 1 - In this pipe Mario will find many large pipes (like the one from Supermassive) being swung into place. He must use his jumping skills to traverse the pipes, and at the end he will find a silver star. In the pipes, Mario will find items and enemies such as Buzzy Beetles, Goombas and Hammer Bros. Pipe 2 - This pipe will take Mario to a Tall Trunk-like slide on the half- built sewer system. He must avoid gaps in the pipes and debris scattered along the floor in order to reach the end of the slide, where he finds another silver star. Pipe 3 - In this pipe, Mario will find Yoshi. Once he is on Yoshi, he can use a dash pepper to dash across the dirty water, whilst avoiding Buzzy Beetles and Paragoombas. If Mario stays in the water for too long, it will damge him. MArio can avoid this by eating the dash peppers scattered along the surface of the water. When Mario reaches the end, he gets a silver star. Pipe 4 - This pipe will lead to a 2D area where Mario will find a maze of pipes. However, the pipes are blocked up with dirt, and Mario must use a spin-drill to enter them. Inside the Maze are Buzzy Beetles, Goombas, Hammer Bros etc. If Mario can navigate the maze, he will find a silver star. Boss Fight - After emerging from the pipe maze, a cutscene will play of a launch star appearing on top of a tall skyscraper at the centre of the planet. Mario should climb the tower, avoiding Hammer Bros and other enemies on the way. When he reaches the top, he will launch up to the standard Digga Leg planet, but with a little twist: it's hollow! After grabbing a spin-drill, Mario will fight Digga Leg and, when Digga Leg is defeated he will recieve the fifth and final silver star. Star 2 coming soon. ____________________ Guess who's back |

Polari - Yes, there will be a pipe at the end of each section to take the player back to the main area. And couldn't we just make Digga-Leg spawn a silver star instead of a power star? ____________________ Guess who's back |

Instead of using the slide section in star 1, we could use a different area and keep the slide for star 2 (with purple coins). I suggest a dirty underwater section in the sewers that Mario must swim through.

NWP said on the IRC we should use a toad village as opposed to a city. The village would have a big polluted fountain in the middle, and Mario would need to go into the sewers to de-pollute the fountain. ____________________ Guess who's back |

A lot has changed since I uploaded the original design, so I thought I'd make a revised design
Star 1 - The Polluted Pipe Maze Mario lands on a narrow path. Along the path, there are Goombas, Octoombas and a Koopa for Mario to avoid, along with coins and star bits for Mario to collect. At the end of the path, there is an old, ruined archway that says "Welcome To Toad Town" (it will actually say Wlcme To Toad Twn). An overview of the planet Once Mario enters the town, he will realize it is completely abandoned; all the toad houses are boarded up and litter and tumbleweeds are blowing around. However, Mario spots one toad standing by a large fountain The fountain: The Toad says: "Mario! Please help me! All the sewers are polluted, and the other Toads have run away!" After the cutscene, Mario can explore the village. There are plenty of enemies, coins, starbits and even a chance cube. Mario can enter any pipe he wants when he is done exploring. The left-most pipe - Mario will appear in an under-water section with a koopa shell nearby. He will swim through the sewers, avoiding Snoodles, Gringills and Urchins. On the way, he should collect five ? coins, which will unlock a cage at the end. The cage will let fresh water into the sewers. Mario will exit via a pipe, which will bring him up in the same place. A concept in two parts: The second pipe from the left - This section will be a dry pipe maze. There will be three pipes in each room, including an exit pipe to the surface. There will be 10 rooms in all, including one with a comet medal. There will also be five ? coins in different rooms, and they will trigger a release of clean water. Mario can then explore the maze underwater, or leave. A top-down view of the pipe maze: Third pipe from left - Mario lands in an enormous pipe (supermassive pipe) filled with water. He will find an ice flower sitting on a large rock, and he can use it to skate through the pipe, avoiding Choppas, Huge Paragoombas and Scuttle Bugs. Falling into the water will cause Mario to take damage. Once again, he should collect five ? coins in order to unlock the cage. Fourth pipe from left - This pipe will be a long Tall Trunk slide in a sewer pipe. Mario will avoid gaps in the pipe and the same enemies as the rest of the level. If he collects all five ? coins, a cutscene of the pipe being magically repaired will play, and clean water will flood through it. Fifth pipe from left - Mario lands on a large piece of litter floating in the water. Below him, a deep pool of poisonous water flows past him. Mario must, once again, collect five ? coins, but he must avoid the deadly water by jumping on the litter floating through the sewer. If he can survive to the end, he can return to the surface. Once Mario enters the pipe, a cutscene will play depicting the fountain becoming clean. All the litter vanishes and the toads return. After the cutscene, Mario will talk to the toad he met at the start of the galaxy: "Thank you, Mario! You saved our village. Take this!" A star will pop out of the fountain, and Mario can collect it.
