Okay, I started modeling it and I want some feedback on whether this is the right size (Scale: ? Block = 150 units in this model) and whatnot.

oke mabey you need to do the white stips with a texture, like they did in mario kart. otherwise you use a ton of polygons.

What do you mean by "white st(r)ips with a texture"?

1. How do you make an NPC trigger something after saying something?
2. How do you make an event change an NPC's speech?
I've been seeing a few SMG2.5 galaxy designs involving this.

Whatever someone tells you, do NOT delete a system32 folder. The files inside are very necessary and deleting them will cause a computer coma.

1. Microsoft makes enough money.
2. System32 is way, way less than 32 GiB.

What is the purpose of putting the first and 42nd galaxies on hold when progress is already slow?

Well first of all, please post pictures so everyone can see.

As for the model...the tops of the mushrooms don't really look like tops of mushrooms, they just look like compressed spheres. The log is literally just a cylinder (or is it just not finished yet?) I'm fairly sure the mushrooms are supposed to be a lot taller than that. And like jess said, everything is pretty high-poly when it probably doesn't need to be.

I'll fix the model and try to make it lower-poly, but I'm basing it on HodgePodgeNine's art and the first few mushrooms are lower to the ground. Also, the log needs to be right on top of the poison swamp and I'm considering Mario's jumping ability. I'll make the Throwback Falling Platforms form stairs so Mario can get higher and the later mushrooms can also be higher.

Good?

EDIT: Is this good for a lower-to-the-ground mushroom (except shading)?

Also, the white spots right now are decagons. They would look better if they were textured circles as jess064 said.

But you are doing good so far with the modeling.

You forced me to UV map :(
Okay, I'll do it

wait if you guys want it to be like the muschroom george muschrooms why don't you rip these from the game? and use these? or use it as example.

1. Please fix your spelling.
2. They're red and green only and besides, they're pretty easy to replicate.

EDIT: Progress Picture

Note: Doesn't include vertex colors and the tan texture for the stem doesn't show up on viewport.
(Now people can't complain that my log is a cylinder. Haha! :D)

I'll test the model on Friday and give you the so-far .obj, .mtl, textures, and .yaz0'd .arc.

Ah, that's looking better. The dots on the mushroom should vary in size a lot more and also be randomly placed, not uniformly distributed like they are now. But I like the log o,o

I'll fix it on Friday.

How would you make the water on your planet swimmable. All I know is how you can make it knee height, waist height etc. I don't want to use RailMoveWaterObj.

Use WaterArea. Unlike RailMoveWaterObj which is forced to be a beveled rectangular prism, it can be different shapes. Just change the number in AreaShapeNo.
-1 = FREEZE frame!
0 = Rectangular prism
1 = Hemisphere (?)
2 = Sphere
3 = Cylinder
Don't know any higher.

spelling? I'm not american or English, that means that some people who don't have English as mother language can make mistakes in the spelling. don't try too say that everyone have to speak or write English perfectly, that makes you look stupid

So does calling people stupid. :P Not to mention he had know way of knowing, as your English is good enough to make it seem as though you natively spoke it. ;) Back on topic, anyway. I like this model but I also feel that it might be a tad low-poly. It may look better in-game, though, as I've been fooled before by how something looks in Blender. It's a great model, though!

(English isn't my native tongue either, as I grew up in Turkmenistan)

Thank you for elaborating that I didn't know. I won't tell anyone to fix their spelling again.

Also, thank you for appreciating the model. You're probably fooled again because remember:
1. Shading doesn't show up on the Wii
2. I cleanly added vertex colors that will show up on the Wii.

I have put together a Template for creating all galaxies for SMG2.5 (and for custom galaxies in general for SMG2) in Flip-Swap.

Why? Because Flip-Swap isn't as sensitive to crashing as the other galaxies are in the game.

Once the galaxy is finished, it can be moved to it's correct location, from Flip-Swap.

This Includes a blank RedBlueExGalaxyMap (With the necessary stuff to make the level work correctly.) If you wish to change the comet, please do so yourself, so multiple Scenarios don't have to be made.

This includes 45 Paths for you to use, so paths won't be a problem to handle.

Have fun! Download link is right here; https://kuribo64.net/get.php?id=xQRIYjM0RQLVKHjl

If you have any questions, please Personal Message me, or comment on my profile to get more help.
Or you can join the IRC chat and ask me there.

Enjoy!
~MrRean

Are you saying that if you rename a galaxy from Flip-Swap to something else (with a custom model), it won't freeze on the new galaxy? If so, awesome!

No, unfortunately that's not what happens. It's Flip-Swap's SLOT that's magical, not necessarily the galaxy itself.

So... How's the progress with the slot hack going?

In all honesty, I'm pretty tired of hearing "ASM Hack needed" as just writing off something as impossible. Why don't we start doing these ASM hacks already? Newer wouldn't be nearly as technically impressive without all of Skawo/Treeki's ASM work.

Because we need the motivation to do it. :P

Here's some motivation for us all. :3

DO IT.

Best motivation we'll ever get. We're not getting paid to do this, y'know.

Not everybody has the technical know-how to assembly hack.

Nice logs. They could be used in a few places actually.
The mushroom isn't bad, but yeah, maybe a bit less symmetrical? :P
Judging from the pitifully small amount of knowledge I have about Blender, it shouldn't be that hard to distort the mushrooms, right? It'd be nice to have slightly different models instead of one duplicated model.
Great work! :)

Mushroom Gorge mushrooms were symmetrical in shape, but not in texture. The shape will have to stay, but the texture will be replaced (which is not so hard or time-consuming to do either).

I didn't see this anywhere do I decided to start it:
Who Is Better? Mario or Sonic?

I think that Mario is better than Sonic because:
1. Mario has more power-ups
2. Speed isn't everything
3. Mario has better games
4. Mario breaks brick blocks with his hand
5. Sonic is Goku's copycat while Mario is original
6. (Joke) Sonic is so fast and careless that his bumping rate is 1,000,000 enemies per second!!!
And more...

Vote Mario for the win!!!

This is also helpful with other galaxies crashing upon editing. (Twisty Trails, Starshine..)

LOL :D Twisty Trials and Starshine Beach. What a coincidence.

Humongous Fungus is replacing Twisty Trials and I was trying to get Starshine Beach working once.
