Posted by Luigi Assume that 10^6=infinity and therefore that many years = never. That's why Anarchy is better than Whitehole (Thanks to whoever made Anarchy:) ), and also, Anarchy can edit more stuff and is less glitchy than Whitehole. Anarchy for the win! Sorry if I'm badmouthing Whitehole. ____________________ Current hack: Excerpt from Super Mario 256 |

Posted by PaperplateismGuy Yes. A negative value for the speed variable makes it spin the other way. To convert it to hex, though, you need to add 2^32 to it first. Example: -8 = FFFFFFF8 ____________________ Current hack: Excerpt from Super Mario 256 |

All right, cast your final votes! Any votes made after 4:10 today will NOT count.
Although it seems that Spiky Cave Galaxy's win is inevitable! Also, whoever voted for SM64DS, your vote will NOT count until you specify a course other than Bob-Omb Battlefield. ____________________ Current hack: Excerpt from Super Mario 256 |

On the topic of SketchUp, there is a camera in SMG2 that starts with g: and has "SketchUp Model" in its name. What is that for? ____________________ Current hack: Excerpt from Super Mario 256 |

Due to Spiky Cave Galaxy winning the vote 6 to 0 (the guy voting for SM64DS did not heed my warning) to 0, that's the galaxy I will work on.
(The tutorial that adds a star requires you to log in to the proboards, and there is some info in there (email) that I don't feel like putting.) Edit: BREAKTHROUGH!!! I edited the ScenarioBgmInfo.bcsv, patched it up with StageBgmInfo.bcsv, added a new line to the xml called and tested it, and now Starshine Beach Galaxy has a unique song in each scenario! Apparently, the other thread got deleted just as I was about to give credit to MrRean for showing which objects to leave undeleted in a template. Finished: Making Model (for now) Making spiked swinging ball Progress: It's Placement Time! Also making rotating platform (continue on Friday) ____________________ Current hack: Excerpt from Super Mario 256 |

Sorry to take your time, but... Can someone please post a step-by-step explanation of how to add a non-hidden star with its own layer to a galaxy? Read first post to see why I ask. ____________________ Current hack: Excerpt from Super Mario 256 |

Are you saying that Starshine Beach Galaxy won't allow a new planet to enter it even if you clean it of objects?
If so, how can you make a 3-star galaxy without any hidden stars (if we're stuck with Flip Swap Galaxy, how do we add a non-hidden star to it? I saw someone make a hack of Boulder Bowl Galaxy and one of Sweet Mystery Galaxy. ____________________ Current hack: Excerpt from Super Mario 256 |

Posted by NWPlayer123 I just tried it, and it froze a little late. Okay, if you think it's so easy, please tell me how to do it. It has to be a non-hidden star; one that has its own layer. ____________________ Current hack: Excerpt from Super Mario 256 |

I hope you don't think I'm badmouthing this, but...
I use separate maps for collision and show (I got this from Mario Kart Wii hacking), so since I use one tool on one map and a different tool on the other, this will be practically useless for me. Old school style ____________________ Current hack: Excerpt from Super Mario 256 |

I copied the folders and main.py file to C:\Python33
When I saved the collision inside C:\Python33 under a different name to match the bdl name, this error occured: I managed to barely catch it. Apparently it says that the "system" could not find the kcl file. ____________________ Current hack: Excerpt from Super Mario 256 |

15. If Mario gets hit by the bottom of an object with floor code of 4 while he us on the floor, he will perform an awesome red-tinted moving breakdance!
16. CAM_TYPE_2D_SLIDE is not acting nice; it is very restricted and it can only be turned 90 degrees with axis and up. 17. Question blocks are exactly 150 units in length and placing them exactly 75 meters away from it (therefore making it touch the wall without crossing it), Z-fighting between a shadow and the absence if one will occur in the section if the wall directly under the block. 18. Quote: It's actually really easy to make new stars. Here's a tutorial by NWPlayer123. (I guess this counts as a discovery ) I have successfully added a 243rd star, and it's all thanks to MN1's BCSV editor and blank's msbconv Here's a download https://dl.dropbox.com/u/56043942/FlipIntoANewUniverse.zip The way you do it is 1) Edit the ScenarioName.msbt in SystemMessage to add a new star. Here is what I added in. Flip into a new Universe! 2) Extract the Scenario file of a galaxy and edit the ScenarioData.bcsv to add a new "Normal" star 3) Edit the map to link the new star. For example, I changed the 2 green stars to scenarios 4 and 5 so i edited the obj_arg that links to the scenario number. Then I duplicated the normal star and linked it to scenario 3. Compile and pack it all up and test! You're getting closer to what I'm talking about.
A new layer with its own star. I think it's hard because I don't know exactly which values link to which layers. 1=A, 32768=P? Please tell me how or post an example (Flip Into a New Universe doesn't count; it's missing a unique layer.). ____________________ Current hack: Excerpt from Super Mario 256 |

Posted by NWPlayer123 2^15=32768, okay, during the weekend, I'll look for consistency with this pattern and then test it. Warn me ahead of time if there's anything else to do besides actually creating the new layer Apparently, it is power of 2 because some galaxies have scenarios that link to multiple layers (Starshine Beach, scenario 1, layers A and D), so it would be a matter of adding the values (1+8=9). I'll check for this too. I'm getting closer to creating a new main star! Also, should this discussion be moved to a thread called "New Star With It's Own Layer"? 19. The Japanese characters in cameras and AppearPowerStarObj are legitimate Japanese; they can be Google Translated. ____________________ Current hack: Excerpt from Super Mario 256 |

20. PetitPorter has 4 different cameras.
21. Fire Flowers can be shrunk, shrinking their hitbox as well, but if it respawns, it will respawn in normal size. ____________________ Current hack: Excerpt from Super Mario 256 |

Ask questions here about SMG2 and anyone can answer them. I'll start:
I'm curious: What happens if you replace a green star with a normal one in the ScenarioData.bcsv file and the map? Freeze? XD ____________________ Current hack: Excerpt from Super Mario 256 |

How do you properly add a translucent (and there's a difference between translucency and transparency) texture to a model?
Difference: Translucency = between 0% and 100% opaque exclusive Transparency = 0% opaque on the dot ____________________ Current hack: Excerpt from Super Mario 256 |
