Posted by StapleButter Umm...I'm not trying to derail the thread, this is entirely Windows 10-related .-. (Also my Visual Styles are for Windows 8.1.1, and I hope to port them to 10 at some point) Posted by StapleButter That's why I was asking. The very thought of declaring an opinion as fact hurts to think about D: |

Posted by StapleButter They shouldn't have to turn to a cool name to make the OS work. Also...didn't Microsoft release an update to disable the option to disable automatic updates a while ago? How much longer until they remove the option to disable the Windows Update service? How much longer until the upgrade can't be cancelled anymore? And will they ever realize that Windows 10 is actually a downgrade, and that they forgot the "for" in front of "get Windows 10"? |

Posted by StapleButter Woops... ...would a smaller banner be better, then? Or if not, how can I create branding which won't bother you? EDIT: Just to clarify, it is legit. Look here: (That's the real classic theme, not just a Visual Style. The taskbar still looks Modern because it doesn't use Visual Styles anymore) |

Posted by StapleButter Oh... Yeah, I get that. I didn't think anyone would draw that connection, though...um...it'd be nice to retain the style, but...alright...actually, would just a small Windows Classic-styled button with the text on it be acceptable? (Key word "small") If not, I'll just do a text link like you said ._. EDIT: Wait, is the Neo Mario Galaxy banner an issue too? (It is taller...) |

Another suggestion: Try browsing around a bit in incognito mode. See if that stops the problem. Then, slowly flag extensions to be enabled in incognito one by one (browsing for a while after each) until the problem starts happening in incognito. Then uninstall the last extension you enabled before the problem started to affect incognito.
If anyone here knows of a potential problem with this strategy, please say so. |

Posted by LeftyGreenMario But at this rate nobody's ever going to make something better .___. EDIT: Also, So apparently white text on a translucent yellow rectangle is "high contrast"?? WAT!? |

Posted by StapleButter Okay it's one thing for the OS to be butt-ugly, but to have the accessibility-enhancing themes be flat-out broken and left to fall apart further...WAT? T________T Also there is hope...WindowBlinds can skin the whole OS to your exact demands, and Classic Shell can provide a usable Start Menu...and it recently acquired the power to skin the taskbar background, so there's that too. Posted by StapleButter Yup At this point, it's almost as though Microsoft be like "Havin trubl reedin da Windoz? Herr, lettuce put ur wite text on blurles transloosnt yellow backgrownd so u kan r33d it moar eezly O: " Then everyone else be like "" And it wouldn't be as bad if they didn't rearrange the theming engine with practically every second Windows Update (which you're forced to install eventually), as that would be a big problem for anyone aiming to restore some degree of actual functionality. Also they somehow managed to screw up file dragging .____. Does anyone here have a list of benefits of Windows 10? Here, I'll start: -DirectX 12 -Amazing window drop shadows -Beautiful Window and start menu animations -Shell is easy to use...assuming you're on a Microsoft Surface of some sort umm... ...yeah, that's all I've got. Anyone know of other benefits? P: |

...well all the caption buttons are the same size now, which might have theming potential |

Posted by supergamecube Classic Shell's Start Menu is far more reliable. It's a highly customizable replacement, which can do a pretty good impression of a Windows 2000, XP, or 7 menu style. It's also skinnable, and doesn't modify any system files, and is completely safe to use. |

Not sure if anyone remembers this:
Posted by Splitwirez But in any case, I decided to make that button. (Note: Requires Classic Shell) Preview: ...wasn't sure if there was any interest or not, but I figured I'd put it out there just in case. |

Posted by TheKoopaKingdom Ehm...well I guess that's one of my reasons...the others including wanting to honor my implied promise and curiousity as to how Arisotura himself would react/respond... Posted by TheKoopaKingdom ...what did you use to record that GIF? It'd be nice to ditch the watermark I get with my current software... |

Posted by LeftyGreenMario ...you know me as rob55rod more than as Splitwirez? Where from? Have we met in two places without my even knowing? O.o Posted by LeftyGreenMario Yeah, fair enough. Then again, unlike me, most people don't use Device Manager and other stuff in system32 very often. |

Posted by LeftyGreenMario Well, what are the odds of that? I would never have guessed that XDDD Posted by LeftyGreenMario Actually no, my Network Adapter just likes randomly crapping out, so I have to disable and re-enable it every now and then to get it working again ._____. |
