Uh... Purple coins on the summit and in the desert aren't so much hard as they are long and frustrating.
But anyways, I think we need to get back on topic.

THANK YOU FOR GETTING THIS BACK ON TOPIC.

Well I still get the error message ._.
And this:

when I try to open it with Anarchy :/
Maybe I forgot sth to install ?
Or the files are broken ?

You're supposed to acess the folder with stagedata and objectdata in it with whitehole.. Double-click the SMG or SMG2 dump folder (did you name it normal?), not the stagedata folder. Does that help, or is that what you did?

I didn't exactly know where to post this...definitely not SMG hacking tools development, General SMG Hacking is...more about ideas and such, and there isn't a "Other SMG Hacks" Section, but there's a lot of traffic here, so...HERE YA GO!!! DEMOMARIO!!!

BOOO! The icon at the top totally ruins me immersion. Hmph.

But seriously, I don't think that's lame. I watched people discover how to mod XCOM, and I learned to appreciate how ever little hack can take a lot of effort, and even something so small had to take some work.

I presume that the BOOing was a joke, given that the video takes place in the Boo Moon Galaxy, and considering what you said after. But I have a theory on how to correct the star chip counter. If it works, I'll upload the results. Also, this will be part of my upcoming "Glistening Glacier Galaxy" Hack. Regardless, it's good to see that I was't JUST being FailHammered for the Star Chip counter, but also appreciated for what I did right. It convinces me that these hacks ARE worth it.

Whoa, that's cool, I think this tread should go somewhere else tho. Anyway, tell us how you did it.

The blue star chips are in the game though, but broken. I added in a patch for them....somewhere.

I tried to patch them back in myself. The level loaded, just not the Blue Chips. Did you add any BSCV entries or was ASM hacking necessary? Because if the answers are no and no, then I don't know what I did wrong.

You have to add the model in, you didn't add in the arc from the original game containing the model for it to work. IIRC, all I did was add back in the model file, and then use the original objects (the 5 chips and the group), basically all you'd have to do is rename YellowChip to BlueChip and YellowChipGroup to BlueChipGroup since they're identical with settings.

That's what I did. But then it failed, so I just patched the BlueChip.bdl into YellowChip.arc and let blue SpinDrivers fly. Oh and btw, I almost ROFL-d at your new avatar image.

I've attempted to port all the planets from the Dusty Dune and Sand Spiral Galaxies (Aside from JumboDeathSandPlanet) into Flip-Swap Galaxy. I have the files copied, and reused my modified DesertMovingLand (It works, and is featured in my Star Savannah Galaxy). I've placed all the planets into Flip-Swap, attempted to load it, and it crashed...earlier than normal. Wehen you select a star and press A, the star moves to the center of the screen and all the other ones fly away. Well, the star got about halfway before the game froze. I can try to supply any further info needed. The files I used are here: https://kuribo64.net/get.php?id=NPr4mAV3XTRPzR0b. Any suggestions are wanted. ANYTHING. If there's any chance, even 1:1,000,000 that it will work, I still would like to know.

Because you still need to add them to the file like if you were importing a custom plsnet, you still need to define them with "SimpleMapObj". Also a debug printout would be nice too. I'd need the very bottom with the list of addresses and the very top with all the registers (r00, r01, etc.)

Well, I removed all the planets, added a few back in, and added those few to PlanetMapDataTable. Still Crashed. I just launched the level with the Debug Screen enabled. Didn't show anything. Does that mean it's an infinite loop? WHAT DO I DO!?! P.S. I had the same problem trying to add the comet observatory parts into MarioFaceShipZone. Could these be the same problem? (No, I didn't try the Domes or Dome-related objects, just the ship models)

Just something I noticed recently: Flying Mario's music sounds like an instrument is missing/was removed. Is it? Or did the developers Change that? Also, the sounds that play in SMG1 when Flying Mario starts flying, Hovers, and Stops Flying don't seem to play in SMG2. In SMG1, they only play in the 2 levels that the Red Star is supposed to be in, and adding a Red Star to a different level doesn't help. In SMG2, the sounds play in Bowser's Lava Lair (first star, not tested on 2nd) 1 out of every 2 times the level is loaded and Starship Mario once...ever, so far. If you don't know what I mean, compare this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qQ9tBq0u7EI&feature=kp to this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vRzbf0OFIVE . Listen when mario/luigi starts flying, hovers, and drops. First video? Sounds. Second? none. Any idea why this happens or if something can be done about it in SMG2? It isn't a big deal, so if not, that's okay. Just a question, though.

the only thing I noticed is the change of the trumpet. but that could be possible since the developers didnt used that flying music anyways.

Um, in the videos, listen to when he starts flying, hovers, and stops flying. The first one is legit SMG1. Sound fx. The second is (duh) hacked SMG2. No sound fx.

Its technically not a texture hack. I actually replaced the BDL of Mario with Cosmic Mario from SMG1. I realized that cosmic Mario used one of the animations in MarioAnime (like regular Mario), so I thought, wouldn't it be cool if you could play as Cosmic Mario?

I haven't tested this on the hardware though. (like always) Will test soon. It looks cool when you get the power-ups, because part of you is blue.

Last I tried Cosmic Mario on a wii, CRASH. If you can make him work as a player model, you will be GOD to me. If you can get his voice in there as well, there will be no words left in the english language to describe you adequately.

The hack's out already you just have to patch him in. Its the most simple XML you'll ever have to create/modify ;) I can make soon if you want.

Agh. As much as I'd love that to magically work all of a sudden, it won't. Cosmic Mario's BDL does not work in place of Mario's BDL, with or without the accompanying BTK and BRK files. Gawd, somebody work their ASM magic here...

You said you tried it one time. Do you/have you tried it again with my hack?

Yes I did. It crashed, as I predicted.

Posted by Luigi
I don't see why you just retexture, rather than going through all the trouble of ASM. Plus, it isn't ASM. It's just replacing the bones and joints.

If one simply replaces the model, the game crashes. The rigging is identical, but the textures and materials? That seems to be a different story. I tried, several times, to retexture mario's model to look like cosmic mario. every time, I can replace either the face texture, or the eyelid textures, but never both in the same retexture. I don't know why.

Pretty funny! (I saw the video)
Thanks! :) I will do that with King Kaliente and Megahammer then! :)

Good luck with that. You're gonna have a lot of animation to replace. Funny and original hack though.

What's this thread doing in the custom levels forum? It's not a custom level.

It's just swapping files around.

Like me in 2008.

Well there isn't exactly a section for 'other SMG hacks', and by that logic my texture hacks shouldn't be in here either.
