Longish Letter-styled post imminent

Dear SMG2.5 Developers,
I have been watching this project progress for a long time, anticipating the next release. You may have never seen me around the forums before, but that’s because I only created this account now, to say this. When I heard that SMG2.5 was cancelled, I was rather crushed. I have been awaiting the next release for over a year now. If development has permanently ceased, then I have one (meant to be) simple request: Would you please be kind enough to release the stuff that has been made for SMG2.5? Say, a package of what could have been. That way, someday someone might resurrect this great endeavor, and the files could be built upon, rather than having to start from scratch because the files had sunken into the dark oblivion of someone’s deleted files, or succumbed to hard drive corruption. Even if there is a disclaimer regarding further use, it would make my day, and possibly that of many others as well. A re-upload of the SMG2 texture hacking tutorial would be great too. If I’m asking too much, I will understand. But I personally don’t care if the levels and such are severely broken, as that’s better than them being inaccessible. Without you guys setting an example (and your Planet Plains demo as a proof of concept) I probably never would have started making my (currently unreleased) Star Savannah Galaxy.
P.S.: Is there a Blender .DAE to .BDL converter? If not, then such a program could open up many possibilities for custom animations (Blender .DAE files can contain bones!), so I think that, if possible, it would be a good idea.

1) Everything we've ever done for SMG2.5 is either on the uploader or on my dropbox which I can dig through for you.

2) There's a new way to texture hack if you wanted it, but the only problem is that it uses chadderz' ctools, which for some reason don't work on my various computers >.<

3) We're still here to help if you need help making your level, that's what we're trying to do is build a scene so we have lots of levels and people making levels. IF you know anybody else who would want to do this, then we're more then willing to help.

4) Yes, we're well aware of how model formats work. The only hard part is reading them and converting the data. You have to know exactly what you're doing. And even doing that takes a long time, so it's more likely to fade off if we ever started anything more.

Okay! Um...would you guys mind if I used your assets in a galaxy? (If yes then I would give credit if I publish it)

Sweet, others have started making levels.
Also, you might want to make the world map model smaller....because I'm pretty sure that's a bit too big.
The level looks a tee-bit empty, so you might want to add goombas, plants, decorations, etc.
But not bad for a first galaxy! ;)

Working on adding more stuff to it. Having trouble with pull stars failing to...pull, and I tried to shrink the map model, but that caused a crash. Help?

To PaperplateismGuy: Thanks for letting me use it! I tested that one out privately, and didn't see what was so bad about it. If you ask me, it's pretty darn good!

To Anthe: Good to know you're happy. and While it's not an exact replica, I've been thinking of trying to remake the E3 beta level. maybe I'll do that, and if I do, you will know.

I just wanted to say that I'd like to see the files and assets made for SMG2.5 released to the public, not left to gather dust in a rarely touched directory on someone's hard drive. So, to the former SMG2.5 team, I would like to see these assets and files released so that other aspiring hackers can use them, learn from them, be INSPIRED by the legacy of SMG2.5...the hack that never was, if I may call it that.

I believe what little there was has already been distributed in some form. The "mark up" levels seen in the trailer had very little to them other than what you saw, at least from what I had seen myself.

There's not much to ask for.

Voluminous Vortex, Rolling Halfpipe planets, to name a few things unreleased. I just want to have these assets and to let others do the same, custom planets are HARD, and these pieces could be a nice starter kit for future hackers until they can make their own planets.

What dafuq is that. It must be some object or area because I literally have never seen that before. Collision wouldn't do that thing unless you messed around with collision floor settings and set it to bouncy or something, and maybe not even then.

1 problem: it's like floating invisible lava. It doesn't force me into the lava - it IS the lava! this would've been the best planet I've ever made if not for this...aaaugh! I guess I'll try re-creating the kcl file. If that works, I'll post results here for future reference.

That was the one piece I already had. I thought the dl went AWOL though. But...I meant the planets and stuff...the stuff that worked and was amazing yet unfinished. What about that stuff? I'M SORRY. I'M JUST IN DENIAL AND UNWILLING TO ACCEPT THAT IT'S GONE. THIS HACK INSPIRED ME TO START HACKING SMG2, AND I JUST...CAN'T...let go of it.

There has to be a small line or something sticking out of the model...either that or something went wrong while converting it. Use Whitehole v1.2 just to look at the area to see what the hell was going on with it...

Well...they time their attacks in unison, both flinging rocks simultaneously and taking turns throwing FALCON PUNCHes at Mario/Luigi. It's hard!!

that was the video that inspired me to do this. I modified the events using an ExterminateSwitch (Yes, those work with bosses it seems) such that the player must slay BOTH Bouldergeists before the Launch Star appears. All the event stuff was based on a hunch I had. As you can see, I was right.
