"JRE 7" and "Java SE 7" is the same thing. It's the thing that you use to run Java programs. You should be fine with what you have.

About the error, I'm not sure what's going on. From looking at Whitehole's source, I see it's failing to list the files in a directory or something. Do you have weird folder permissions, or something?

Probably Arisotura knows more about what's going on :)

What you should do is select the folder with the extracted ISO. So if you have "SMG/ObjectData" and "SMG/StageData", then you have to select the "SMG" folder.

If you're doing it that way, then I have no clue what's going wrong. Just wait until Arisotura sees this, he checks the forum every day.

:)

lol. It's because on IRC there's a bot that notifies of all new posts on the board instantly :)

It's because C# sucks...
Treeki's layout editor uses Qt, so it works everywhere :P

* Dirbaio goes mark another object as fully documented... YAY! 1k objects!!! (just kidding)

Nice. That's nearly 3 times the amount of sprites in NSMB. It has been FAST...

Do you mind if I upload the source onto GitHub?

It's probably a bad idea. GitHub is not a place just to "upload" source code, it's a place to host git repositories. It's the project owner that should own the repository...

That sounds like you have Java 6 and not Java 7...
Are you really sure you have java 7?
You can check by running "java -version" in a terminal.

Stygmax: Maybe you need to uninstall java 6 before installing java 7?
shibboleet: His problem is not about Macs. It's about wrong java version. >.<

Yeah, definitely not dubstep.

I've done quite a bit of music using Ableton, but most of it is techno/trance. I've never done something in SMB style. I could go and try.

06:22 < MrRean> We aren't here just to be important have an awesome job and brag about it.
06:22 < MrRean> What are we here for? A hack.
06:22 < MrRean> A FUN hack.
06:23 < MrRean> Jobs don't matter.
06:23 < MrRean> As long as you help out, and contribute to the project, you are being a helpful member.
So the thing is:

The "job" thing is creating drama. People fight to get jobs because they believe it will "make them important" in the project.

You know what? This is STUPID. It's creating useless drama. It isn't helping the project. It's pissing people off.

People have to realize that the best thing they can do for the project is collaborate. Forget about the jobs. Do stuff that needs to be done. Do it awesome. Then the project WILL work. People are important because of what they DO, not because of the JOB they have.

The thing I'm proposing is that jobs should go away. People who really care about the project will contribute in everything they can, and the project will go forward. All successful community hacks I've seen have been organized this way. I can tell you that not having jobs is GOOD because I've SEEN IT.

(I'm not making a poll because everyone who has a job would vote that jobs should stay and everyone who doesn't would vote jobs should go away.)

Please discuss.

We need to learn how to have some healthy competition on this project, which will help us work together.

Competition is always bad if people don't know how to handle it. I've seen quite a few NSMB hacking contests blow up because of this in NSMBHD. Jobs are a form of competition too.

Posted by MoreCowbell
That's not true MrRean. I want a job to effectively help this project. I think there are others who do to.
If you want to help the project then DO IT. No need for jobs. You will be judged by what you have contributed, that's all.
