if your willing to be slightly devious, you can get them for free pretty easily if you know what to look for, a good start is to get kontack player 5 as you can load lots of librarys in them, good ones i like are collosus (the free one agent posted is a very cut down version), drums of war 2 is good for ambient drums, action strings is great for fast paces strings, but those are all quite large, first focus on getting a quality composition down, notated as simply as possible, such as not using unneccessarily large amounts of instrument tracks, and im sure someone who is a professional mixer/producer would be willing to render your tracks into orchestra.. assuming the composition was up to standard :P.. also welcome aboard im also a composer/pianist on this project but ive been busy with my job recently (pianist)

im sure you already know, but anyways, i work full time as a musician (hence why i dont always have alot of time for doing projects)

in the afternoons i work as a lounge piano player, improvising jazz and playing classical for about 3 hours a day

in the evenings i mostly teach piano or music theory lessons

in the nights especially weekends i gig with an 80s band, playing synth and singing (normally between 1-3 gigs per week, alot of december)

during my free time as you know, i like to compose stuff, not always for smg2.5, and also work on new classical compositions or improvisation/jazz styles.

i just wanted to make it a mish mash as pretty much all the retro mario themes sound the same/ use the same chord sequences, wanted to just get a retro feel to it, but using some of the same sounds as the wii/gc marios it has abit of the athletic theme in it, but only bits, the base is from the main theme, but since its my remix, ill just go ahead and do whatever i want and see how it comes out!

i know its not really mario related, but i do draw graphics art as a hobby so if you ever need any backgrounds drawn in a sort of "painting" style, i can maybe do those, i normally draw semi realism stuff, such as this from my dev art. to be clear i dont mean modeling but 2d artwork. [image]

merry christmas, or happy Anastasia of Sirmium, Celebration of the birthday day of Mithras,Brumalia celebration of the pagan solstice,Yule,Malkh,Dies Natalis Solis Invicti and how could i forget... isaac newtons birthday!

on a side note, ive used a ssd for several years now, had 0 issues with it ever, and it is super fast, i recommend using it only for your os, and any very commonly used programs, or for anything where write speed is a bottleneck, i use it for my work, as i often have to stream 16 channels of audio recording etc so the ssd is hugely useful for that and also exporting video etc, they are expensive per gb but you shouldnt be using it for storage, also modern ssd's are probably less likely to fail then platter drives and obviously are much more shock resistant and power efficient, they have been known to degrade, but generally they come with a 5 or more yr warranty.

since usb drives/micro sd's are super cheap these days a friend of mine made a raid using 4x 32gig micro sd cards they cos about 10quid each each with one of those tiny usb adapters going into a usb hub lol. it performs quite well, and because it has distributed parity, if one of them fails, you can just replace the card.. fun..

actually i think he did raid 5 or 6, so it was basically striped but with recoverable data being split amoungst all drives so if any 1 drive fails you can recover. yeah striped raid is fastest as u know, but also for each drive you add you increase ur risk of failure so its best to have either a mirror drive or parity regions. it was only for fun he did it, but it worked surprisingly well lol, and im pretty sure he hasnt had any failures so far lol
