Blender has a steeper learning curve but is much more powerful than sketchup. ____________________

Yep, Solar Coaster. That's one of the more difficult models to texture, there are a lot of easier ones as well. If you're interested in UV texture mapping, talk to me on the 2.5 IRC channel. (I'm usually on from around 4 - 6 PM and again from 8 - 10 PM Eastern Time.)
Also, as a random aside, I'm realizing that Solar Coaster model will probably have to be split into multiple parts to even work ingame. So if there's a certain part that you'd be more capable of texturing, we can work with that as well. ____________________

Glem bailed ages ago, and rejected the opportunity we gave him to get involved again. NWP is technically not working on 2.5 but he is working on some speshul seeeeecwet projects that will be helpful. Martboo was where we first uploaded the teaser, and he's expressed interest in creating levels in Whitehole. ____________________

Well just on principle we probably wouldn't take music from other Mario games (except in the case of Retro Remix.) But yeah that track from 3DW is sort of the right idea, but something more spacey would be nice. It's tough because "theme park in space" is a very specific description for a piece of music ____________________

Also, all of the galaxies we're doing have designs and untextured models already. Texturing models is the bottleneck at the moment. ____________________
