Okay, design ideas, just gonna throw some out there:
Starting out similarly to Bonefin galaxy, or a feel similar to Bonefin. A large, spherical planet with a huge underwater volcano at the top. You start out at the bottom of the planet, and make your way to the top where the volcano is whilst avoiding little mini volcanos on the sides. - Swimming INTO an underwater volcano. So, volcanos underwater, cool. You know what else would be cool? Going INSIDE one! I researched the topic and I've found no results on what the inside of an underwater volcano looks like, so we can really go wild here. That said, it's probably just like a regular volcano. Who cares though? We could have lava spiraling around the sides, which you need to make sure not to bump into. - Fire flying between parts of the inside of the volcano. (The volcano will start with a long swim down, much like deep dark) - A 2D area where you need to navigate between firebars and maybe some poodaboos. - At the very bottom of the volcano (which you'll only enter in the first mission), there will be Magmaarghs you need to avoid. There could be lil' cinders as well, lots of fire enemies would be fun to try to deal with underwater. This is kind of hard to bullet point, because I'm thinking more as a grand scale level. Think of it like deep dark. You start out by flying onto a rocky platform at the base of a giant planet, like so:
Then you work your way up to the volcano at the top. I'll add some more ideas later. |

I'd rather have a LOT of really bright stars (suns) in the bg. |

Erm... An underwater volcano was the idea of the GALAXY, and it was my idea so... no. |

I think that's a good example of what we should go for, but we shouldn't just use it/remix it. |

This is a PERFECT level to use the wormholes in! That would be awesome to see. In fact, we could make a wormhole open when mario enters a pipe, I believe...
Edit: Or the wormhole could already be on top of the pipe. |

No, I want the drawings. We had a full layout complete with drawings. |

Posted by Cirnya The AzureBlade is strong with this one. Walljumping sounds good to me, so long as it's not too tricky to pull off, it should give you lots of time. |

I think SMG style graphics, it would be more fun to see new stages like that than just to see them exactly as they were. |

About cramming the missions into one star each... silver stars are the answer. At least, for something like Bob-omb battlefield. 5 silver stars in the place of 5 of the original stars, and then the final star can appear at the top of the mountain (symbolizing the boss fight). Then a 100 purple coin mission to simulate the collect 100 coins.
And for sunshine I think we should do something entirely different, I mean this is retro REMIX after all. I don't know why you chose Ricco Harbor because we can't have mario climbing on the grates that the level is based on... But we should redesign the level, make it really new. |

We can use it if we brush it up, a lot. People loved the way it looked in the trailer so hey, why not use it? There are some minor collision glitches and a few ugly textures, but nothing that can't be fixed. |

I actually like AwesomeAddict's idea... for one star, mind you. Why have flarefrost be linear? I normally go for linear but... we already got a linear level in SMG2. We could have a mix of linear and non-linear here. You start out on the frozen outside of the planet, and then you slide down to the center, in which you find that the inside of the planet is molten! It could be really neat! |

Stop saying "this should be another Up Down Gravity galaxy". It's not. It never has been. It's about interior and exterior, above and below. |

Or maybe it looks like you're inside a giant tornado, but at the top and bottom you can see the sun and clouds. |

Yeah, I literally said EXACTLY what we need to do right now. Pull from our pool of ideas and decide the planets' basic designs and their order, that's all. No star names, no new course ideas... |

Let me just point out that the planet I drew up is very big. I agree that star 2 should expand beyond this planet, just like deep dark did, but the planet will be more than sufficient for the first star at least. |

... you guys really aren't getting this whole outline thing. Here's an example of what I want:
Star 1 (linear level hopping from planet to planet, this has already been decided): Starts on _____ planet, moves onto _____ planet that ______ mentioned, then you use a launch star/pipe/means of travel to get to the ______ planet... etc. No more new ideas at this point, some new ideas might sneak their way in later but for right now, no new ideas. |
