There are a couple artists I'm really into right now:
* Supertramp (favorites: School, Bloody Well Right, Just Another Nervous Wreck) * Aimee Mann (favorites: It's Not Safe, Red Flag Diver, Poor Judge) * The Pretenders (favorites: Talk of the Town, Birds of Paradise, Holy Commotion) |

Posted by StapleButter Even if it were possible, no matter how many people we impeach, it's terrible Republicans (redundant phrase) and a couple corporatist independents all the way down the line. |

Posted by LeftyGreenMario As well as voter suppression and electronic vote rigging, which have given Republicans numerous unearned victories for the past 20 or so years. |

Posted by LeftyGreenMario At this point, there are even nastier tricks than voter ID, like a fraudulent list of voters to purge adopted by Republican election officials around the country. |

Posted by Swingball It wouldn't be a hassle at all, and in fact, most other modern democracies do use hand-counted paper ballots. But the political establishment (both Democrats and Republicans) would never want to get rid of a voting system that maintains their power. |

Posted by StarTrekVoyager Yes; with few exceptions, all votes in US elections are counted by computers: they're either cast and counted on touchscreens, or cast on paper ballots that are counted by optical scanners. I've heard the argument that the US population size would make hand counting more difficult, but that's not really the case: each individual voting precinct can hand-count in parallel and have the results ready within a reasonable time. Posted by StapleButter That's true, but it's nearly impossible to systematically rig elections without computer counting. The level of coordination would most likely require too many people to be feasible. (That's also why "voter fraud" is a non-issue - you generally can't organize a sufficient number of illegal voters to swing an election) Computer code is inherently replicable and centralized, which allows election fraud to be employed across the entire country by a small group of people. |

I was part of the Super Mario Galaxy 2.5 project (RIP), which ended up moving to K64 back in 2012. |
