Camembert's the best. Do you like comté or gruyère? They're both nutty cheeses I like with bread.

It's a really sucky spot. Yeah. I want the safety nets to be expanded to accommodate more people. I'm pretty sure that's what leftist policies advocate, while also trying to keep a cap on rent and stuff. Not sure what controls property taxes. Nevertheless, while those are actual solutions, they're just shot down as socialism or communism by conservatives. They that think that my parents should just work harder or I should just get a job even though I'm still learning skills and don't want to invest time in a job yet, and finding jobs is onerous and excruciating too. The right-wing mindset, I just don't get, like they live in a fantasy world where problems are simple, solutions are super quick easy, made all on an individual level, and don't require a broader, more systemic scale of changes.

man i don't do anything. people always talk about cool foods and shit and i'm here eating nothing but McDonald's and my mouth will fucking die if i eat anything remotely spicy

I love McDonald's too as well as the "cool foods". You just have to be adventurous sometimes. As for spicy foods, I used to be in the same boat but I started eating spicy foods on a more and more regular basis, starting with mild and then working my way up. I can now eat some really spicy stuff such as these chongqing Chinese noodles that causes my mouth to tingle and it's spicier than the popular shin ramen you find in stores frequently. My sister can only somewhat handle shin and dies to the chongqing stuff lol. I also like eating the taco sauce packets that comes with tacoes in Taco Bell for some reason but I remember that being unthinkable before.

Hm on capitalism, why does my sister have to pay 40 to renew a driver's license? That's stupid.

I don't get how people can enjoy spicy food. to me it just burns and the pain ruins the pleasure of eating shit.

but eh, maybe it's just that I eat a ton of sugary crapo.

Spicy food is just another means of giving personality to a dish. Spicyness can bring out the flavor of a dish similar to how salt does it, but just in a different way. The ideal way to make spicy food delicious is to just have enough to activate taste buds, but not enough where the burning sensation overwhelms the food, just as how you can overdo the salt. I don't know if you enjoy pepper in your food, but that's kind of an idea what spice can do to foods.

because people won't do you any favors if you don't give them money.

also, 40 every how often?

40 every 5 years or so? I think. I just know it's over several years. So long-term, it's not too bad, but that's 40 I rather be spending on video games.

In my state it's only $25 to renew your license.

It was back in 2016 that I decided that I don't wanna drive because I can't be bothered to pick up a manual and read, plus license, registration, insurance, etc...

I'm perfectly fine with all the downsides of not owning my own car.

The time I went go-karting upstate is probably the closest I'll get to owning an automobile. Lol.

eh I'm in Los Angeles. Pretty much need a car to get to places; bus isn't as practical. I'm probably a gas burning heathen, but oftentimes, I just don't have that much of a choice.

I mean if you just want to view and export .dae and .obj files rather than have the entire editing package and all, I think Noesis is a decent program. If you want a modeling package, people tend to recommend Blender (might need plugins for .dae and .obj, not sure but it should be built-in). I use Maya myself, and that comes with free student versions with licenses that last many years, so that's good.

Did I rekindle interest in the site after coming back and not actually forgetting about it for once?

Huh, really? I just chat about random subjects.

In the meantime, I know how to model, I know how models in video games work. My issue is just that I don't do modeling work consistently, so I have a lot of projects just sitting there while I work on modding games or just chatting online. I hate that.

LGM is kind of magical. She doesn't realize it, but this is the second time she caused an activity surge.

Also, an adult that radiates responsibility yet shows interest for some cool hobbies is simply appealing, no questions asked.

That's so flattering! Gaming is a real cool hobby! I collect Mario plushies too. I have like 11 Mario figures on my desk right now. A Mario 3DS holder, a hot wheels Mario toy, a small World of Nintendo Mario, a Figuarts Mario, a Mario Nendoroid, two similar-looking Banpresto Mario figures with articulate arms (one of them has an articulate head), a World of Nintendo Wedding outift Mario, a Wedding outfit amiibo of Mario, and Dr. Mario. And there's my Mario+Luigi wallet. Oh, and I'm wearing a Mario+Luigi t-shirt. I kinda am slowing down on collecting Mario figures though, and I still have more figures in my room, though collecting dust.

I also love birds too and I don't know anyone else who's into birds like I am.

problem is that inactivity is a vicious cycle. why bother posting if nobody's gonna reply?

but if we're here together again we can break this :P

That's true, but I have to commit to being here and not forgetting.... I'm trying my best to try invite a little talk here. In fact, I think I'll continue the Mario thread I have and still continue talking about everyone's favorite subject, capitalism.

We will revive Kuribo64 mosts and I will win best regular user and be very happy :))

I'm sad that's been dead for two years. I figure you guys abstained since there's not enough active users.

>if we're here together again we can break this

both activity and inactivity periods can be broken. what actually matters in a small community like this is your users actually befriending and being there for eachother, in other words having members actually enjoy the group of active users we have here.

I've seen places where this actually happens. you have to involve yourself at least a little, though. what the admin does is important, and not just in terms of moderation. as the one who makes the choices, even if it doesn't feel like it, you're the one who leads.

Probably need to pull a little more effort to committing to conversation. Take initiative to talk about subjects. I'm not sure what we can do right now to have a little more community engagement, but I'll try some things maybe.

actually figure out who's active and.. yknow what, yeah maybe.
if you need extra staff (or people to jog the activity) you may as well pick up people you trust.

I don't know whether the rule of "making people staff only because they're your friends == bad" is always true, because if you know them along with thier methods and thier values then if you're really friends you can tell whether the person is competent.

Don't think you need staff, this management's fine.

:) its my epic birthday.
Hanged out with friends, we did an escape room and failed, then we went to eat.
Came back home and celebrated with family.
Got a fitbit and money :)

What cake did you eat anyway? Hope it's good. Can't argue with cake, though, so I'm not betting anything lol.

I'll just say, don't worry about the logo too much, just focus on developing what's important, the content of the mod.

Well, having the skill at the minimum's always helpful, it'll help you on independence. Also, if you rent or lease a car, I don't think you have to worry about the periodic maintenance, so that's also nice.

I just thrown this guy into Marmoset, curious what he'll look like in that engine.

Man I do sometimes wish Nintendo developed games for more powerful consoles. The lighting will look so much better.

Er, what exactly do you need for modding? Asset creation? Gameplay changes? Building off existing mods? Do you even know how you use those tools? You haven't even shown off anything you're capable of for now, so why should anyone pitch their skills for you? Sure, you can't do this alone, make an entire romhack, but what you can do alone is try to get familiar with the engine you're working with, start small.

Like if I wanted to plunge in Super Mario Sunshine modding, I'd do simple things like model replacement or music mods, which I've done before and on my own (as in, first mods I make for other games are generally music mods, texture replacements, model imports).

Edit: Derp, didn't see the date of the original post. I think I'm tired.

There's also just experience with Sketchup. I'm guessing less people even know how to use sketchup compared to Blender or Maya or Max, so troubleshooting problems in Sketchup's even more difficult.

Anyhow those leaked nintendo plugins sound neat for me lol; they're probably built for Maya though, since Nintendo uses Maya for modeling in many instances.

So, Super Mario Strikers have gotten well over 10 years without a new game.

Mario Kart hasn't gotten a new game for around 6 years (Kid's Gambling: Featuring Mario Kart Racing isn't one of them).

Super Mario Sluggers has went 10 years without a new game.

Super Mario Party was in dire need of content updates (four boards, really!?) but never got them.

Mario Golf didn't get a new full-fledged game for nearly 6 years

And Mario Sports Mix is over 9 years old now.

Mario + Rabbids should get a sequel though, at least it's not 10 years yet, and that's one game that isn't just another 2D Mario platformer or a remake/port of an older game.

Just imagine Nintendo announcing new games and then saying that you won't get another in 10 years after they're released. Holy hell will you try savoring that moment.

Call me narrow-minded in interest but Mario needs some games announced via Nintendo Direct. I haven't been watching Nintendo Directs in a REALLY long time, though the Animal Crossing Direct was neat, but wasn't the "start off the decade with a bang" thing I was expecting, especially after the doldrum-fest E3 2019 was, with, what, constant delays for 2020??

btw kirby star allies was pretty lame; guys just announce amazing mirror 2 or city trial 2, that'll be more than enough for me, i don't ask much

So.... in the light of the COPPA thing, why is Google tracking children's data, and why is Google shifting responsibility to content creators?

I'm not too crazy about chocolate cake since the taste of chocolate always came off as muddy to me. I did enjoy a chocolate cake that had a creamy texture in the middle though, but I still prefer like vanilla cake or vanilla ice cream cake with sprinkles. Kinda like how I like golden-colored cupcakes over the brown ones or how I like golden oreos more than the regular one.

"WE USE COOKIES"

That stupid message is everywhere, goddamn that!

Also it massively annoys me that billionaire-owned newspapers have the gall to put their articles behind a paywall

(that should probably go in the capitalism thread, huh)

I was surprised that Deviantart lets you escape its "imgur but worse" theme.

Holy hell how does anyone navigate in the new Deviantart? Maybe it's a good thing the new layout is pretty repulsive.
