It sucks

I didn't want to post it in the basement subforum because it is important to let people know capitalism, particularly the unregulated kind, sucks.

How did capitalism screw you over recently? To me, capitalism made Mario Kart Tour happen, and that game's the worst Mario game in the series.

Capitalism also made my sister pay hundreds of dollars for an ambulance ride. If she didn't have insurance, that'll go into over a thousand.

On the other hand I'm able to get $1000 dollar in YouTube ad revenue per month the past year, all from one video. Somehow. Nowadays, we're getting like $600 and got a low dip in January, but lol we have like $6,000 in savings just from one video. We could've gotten more if we just turned on monetization earlier. To think, that video didn't even get that many views in the beginning, it just had a view spike several years later.

fyi you put stuff in google docs, but access is denied on my end.

Anyhow you're not really going to have much luck getting this idea to be anything beyond that, an idea. The forum isn't really active, Super Mario Galaxy modding just doesn't involve enough interest, and I don't think your idea is all that interesting to pull off frankly, especially with the amount of effort required to get it one.

zl0rp.

a lot of it obeys to one logic: focus the people's attention on something that is made to look VERY BAD, so they don't think of the immediately worse issues.

also, happy birthday

That's the thing, people like to focus on statistically unlikely events though there are far more likely things that'll kill you. If humans were rational, they'd freak out every time they go on the freeway, rather than freak out about shark attacks or plane crashes. But those two highly unlikely events are on the news and it looks spectacular, so that gets ingrained in our image more easily.

yeah, happy birthday! great timing heading back to K64 on your birthday, you didn't miss the rainbow name :0

Yeah, lol. I'm 25 now.

Yeah, looks like it won't be as big as first imagined. I think that right now the most infections and deaths are in China. Probably the quarantining, but I'm not sure.

And happy birthday LeftyGreenMario.
(Yeah, I wanted to see my rainbow name)
I had it styled on dshack to be permanently rainbow colored.

Well, where's the fun in that, making your name permanently rainbow? Your birthday is a special day, make it count!

capitalism destroys the humans and the Earth for the profit of a few Bezos and other fuckheads

Tell me about it. I had YouTube revenue of like 1,000 per month (a little lower nowadays) and my sister and I have to pay more in taxes than Jeff Bezos or Bobby Kotick (CEO of Activison), which is pretty disgusting. There's no such thing as a self-made billionaire. They didn't *make* billions, they just *take* billions.

someone tried defending donating at least $600 to skelux for the sole reason of, and i quote:

"capitalism"

what

Kinda defeats the point. Also you need money to live otherwise you can't exactly try reforming the system that's exploiting you and others.

Posted by Arisotura
well, if they like wasting their money on that.

then again they're probably the same kind of young-boomer who'd piss on me for making a laz0r fundraiser.

welp.

"You criticize society yet you live in one" I'm guessing.

Yeah the gun's big (though Mario's hands are big and I had to fit the gun on there and try to make it look proportional), might need to readjust the proportions eventually. I think hands actually take up more space on the gun than I imagined.

But my idea is that Cappy is a bullet that's faster and travels farther. He still lets Mario controls people when he hits 'em, but it's far more deadly than a hat throw.

IDK you can try to generate all that stuff all you want but if you don't have a place to live, you can't do anything about it. Speaking of which, the cost of rent is abominable around the U.S.

I've been getting more and more college emails which makes me feel smart.
Taking the SAT soon, March 21.
I need to get studying.
I'm basically okay in everything but at the same time I can do better, I just don't put enough effort into things. Since this is basically deciding my future I'm putting in all 110% into it.
Everything.

Oh boy why do you even have to pay to take that damn thing? It seems to be to be just a souped up IQ test that's super profitable. They're telling you that it'll decide your future, but it doesn't have to be that way. You can always go to community college and then transfer. I'm not saying to abstain from studying hard but the SAT also won't decide your life either as marketed, and so don't stress out too much over it.

I hope you ate something nice for your birthday. I was going for live octopus but settled for live prawn that was still twitching and mouth moving while I ate its body.

Don't shitpost, that's against the rules.

Also in smaller formats (mobile) the posting field covers the buttons to let me post.

They're not actually live, they're just so freshly killed their nerves still work.

But I've seen dishes of fish heads that are still breathing, and, uh.

Renting is already ludicrously difficult to achieve in the first place, so I imagine much less buying a house is just out of question to begin with.

The house I live in, in suburban California, its worth, it's like, at least half a million iirc. I don't really get to appreciate how relatively well-off I am I think.

Yeah you can say that.

The body's severed from the head, and the legs are removed too from the body. I didn't eat the head raw though, they fried that one after I ate the body fresh.

Not sure if people even eat chicken meat raw. I heard of tartare, raw beef or even horse meat (oh yes the French eat horses as well as cow brains). Raw meat like that has to be really freshly slain, and I think they separate the head just so you can see it? Weird but you'll eat it later too, and they cook it for that.

I know I had some fortune from my grandparents in France that managed to help my family get this suburban home in the first place, so lucky me I guess? Even then, a decent paying job has been stagnating in wages while taxes particularly the property one keep raising, and we're making too much money to qualify for the safety nets.

There's a photo of a butchery specializing in horse meat in Wikipedia. Besides, the French has amassed a reputation for eating everything that moves and all their parts, offal and all. But again, what major civilization hasn't? Huh.
