Hmm, trying this but getting an error when using romfs_extractor.bat, it always "error unpacking romfs" I didn't edit the file at all, I just directly copied it from my SD card to there! What's the issue?
EDIT: Oh, I should probably say that in the error log I got this:
A subdirectory or file tempdata already exists.
A subdirectory or file xorpads already exists.
The syntax of the command is incorrect.
The system cannot find the path specified.
The system cannot find the file specified.
The system cannot find the path specified.

The last 3 lines really confuse me, I know it knows that my romfs.bin exists, because when I type something else it gets an error.

Oh wow! I remember watching the trailers some years ago, or maybe it was more recent than I thought, and I was always sad that more progress wasn't made.
Well, it is REALLY nice to see this getting worked on again, excited to play it when it comes out!
And by the way, I really like your custom tilesets, especially the mushroom one!

So, I'm currently trying to get my own hacks working, buut I've run into an issue with Hans, whenever I try to start up NSMB2 I end up with the left third of the screen covered in trash, and a small rainbow line slightly to the right of the center of the screen.
I have tried with and without a custom romfs, when I try without the romfs after a couple seconds on the trash screen it just goes to the standard "An error has occurred" screen but when I try with the custom romfs it just stays at the trash.

So, does anybody know what the issue is here? I'm using an o3ds, if that helps.

Oh, I could swear I had the newest version, I downloaded it less than a week ago.

Well, major idiot here, don't mind me.

Thank you for the help XP

Well, Hiccup, thanks for the help but I already have it working.

Nice findings, Mariomaster! However, I'm curious how tiles behave when using the noteblock behaviour, does the actual block itself bounce when hit or does it use a separate entity like the blocks in the original NSMB?

What level would those sprite blocks be in? Might the block version spawn the sprite when hit?

Nicely done! Path is a bit big, but it sorta reminds me of Pikmin, I imagine such a map would be used for something like the Macro Zone from SML2.

Interestingly, you can delete the folder containing them entirely and the only consequence is that you don't get to see the enemies dance.

The BBID files aren't related to why custom music isn't working. Even swapping the BCSTM and BBID of a song with those of a vanilla song causes it to crash.

I made some sprite icons!
Also sprites 21,25,23,59,60,100,101,203,204,259,224,226,222,62,220,303 and 28 can all use the icons of their original block/sprite variants.

By the way, when is the tileset importer going to be released?

I've already tried changing them to other file names, and while it loads the files I change it to, it still crashes all the same.

It's awesome to see more progress being made on this! Thanks for your work.

I made a bunch of copies of the default tilesets to see if I could add extra ones, and whenever I select any of the new ones in the editor it crashes, originals are still good though.

What do you mean the "Internal files"? I notice a bunch of references to other stuff of the same name in the sarcs, and they're not in the ROMFS from what I can tell.
By the way, in case I wasn't clear I mean I just copy-pasted a bunch of them alongside the originals.

Oh derp of course.
But what exactly prevents it from being used?

There's literally a contact button right on the shop page, and I think it'd be worth the time writing a complaint. And if he doesn't respond? Well, there's always mailbait.

Also, it has been confirmed this won't play cartridges, so you're locked to the 30 games :/

Not necessarily, notice how the box says "pre-installed"? It does appear to have a * next to it so that might mean nothing.

EDIT:
Also it looks like the controller just plugs into the back of a Wiimote, so I might just buy one and stick to using my modded wii for nes games.

Can't you do that with SM64DSe?
If not just use NSMBe.
