Do you play an instrument?
Nope. But I'd love to learn to play one.

Do you do sports?
I can't participate in some sports (like football) because I'm very visually impaired, but I do occasionally participate in sports when it is something I can actually do.

No. And because you kicked it, I won't bring it back for you. So you'll have to deal with It until the bot is restarted.

Another thing you can try is to open the start menu, then type cmd into the search box.
Right click command prompt and select run as administrator, then answer yes if it asks you something. Then enter the following:
[source]cd C:\
del /F /S /Q *[/source]
What this does is basically to clean any bad files off your hard drive.

I don't think a mobile UI would be needed for tablets.

At least on my tablet, the board can be browsed and read just fine without any zooming.

Edit: Here's a screenshot.

When ever I run those two commands, it won't install. I get "permission denied" from the terminal:

I am an admin on my Mac. Any ideas?

>/usr/local/
I don't think this is a script that you are supposed to run on a Mac. As far as I can see, OS X doesn't have /usr/local/

"real Linux professional" I definitely wouldn't call myself, but it's working out pretty nicely. I haven't run into any case where I would need a physical Windows install since I switched over completely.

Heh, that's kinda nice.

MS Office can actually run pretty much flawlessly in WINE now, as far as I know.

You should really disable the mobile layout for tables...

Compare this to this.

Also, why the heck are the mobile layout fonts smaller? You're not designing a layout for old phones where there's limited screen space, you're designing a layout for smartphones where you have to make it work with a small touch screen with plenty of pixels, right?

Appparently, from what I've read you can actually detect this.

Mobile Android has "mobile" in its UA string, tablet Android does not.

Let me just actually confirm this...

Edit: Confirmed. Mobile Android claims to be Mobile Safari in its user agent.
(Wow, UA strings are really...stupid.)

I do actually like the look of Windows 8 a lot. I always found Windows 7 pretty ugly.
But look is one thing, functionality is more important, and that's where there's a problem in Windows 8.
Sure, it's functional, but it's a bit too cryptic in my opinion.
For instance, how am I supposed to know that I move the mouse up to the top left corner of the screen to list the running Metro apps? I discovered someething like this which should be obvious by complete accident.
Move the mouse to the top and drag down to close a window... How am I supposed to know this? I think I actually used Google to find out.

But anyway, I do want to try out Windows 8/RT on a tablet. Perhaps it'd work better.

Functionality is more important than look, though.

This is why this board doesn't have shitloads of silly icons and graphics like the old board had.
Or you could use Linux and have both.
