Also, I contacted those hackers on Youtube. Yoshiller declined my offer due to lack of knowledge, and igorseabra4 hasn't replied.

Well basically the ObjectDB download script used to support that, until Dirbaio came up with these very arguments.

Supporting it on the server side is really easy. It's just matter of only selecting the objects that were edited past the local timestamp.

Supporting it on the client side, however, gets tricky. Instead of just being able to copy the received data right into the new file, you have to parse it and merge the XML tree with the existing one. Nothing impossible, it's just uh, trickier.

As for the 'corrupt database stays corrupt' part, there can be an option to redownload the whole database...

Not everyone has tons of money and an uberfast connection. Here, a full ObjectDB download takes around 10s (the file is 791KB). Yes, it is done in the background, but hey, it still takes a while...

Thank you for reminding me to update this :P

The renderer is mostly functional aside from a few issues. Once mouse input and galaxy rendering have been reimplemented, we'll be able to trash the C# branch.


And for reference, here's the proper output from the renderer, with shaders and without them. Nothing different from the C# version, really.

I also wanna point out that for Windows, a .exe launcher will be made. Apparently some people don't know how to use a .jar file.

There's no need for a Linux launcher, though. I assume that Linux users have experience and that they'll know how to use a JAR.

Well yeah, it's rather plain, but I like the font. Find a kickass BG and it'll be nice :)

Heck, if we get enough entries, I might run a banner contest. Or put in random/cycling banners, ala Neritic Net. Possibly even including the purple version of the current banner I made for the Purple Night theme. :)
