regarding the email spam, I set up a few filters that delete spam. I wanted to set up an autoresponder to spam the senders back, but my real-life account isn't getting the canned responses feature for whatever reason, and I couldn't find how to activate it.

did I mention that Aliexpress does that shit too?

as soon as you leave the email field, you're already receiving spam from them.

yet, they don't see fit to properly internationalize their contact info form. I had to enter a bogus phone number because the dumb thing demanded a US-format phone number, nevermind that I had set the country field to France.

also: I wonder how that kind of email-snatching would react to going back and changing the email address. does it send spam again? can you use it to send spam to multiple addresses that way?

in mostly uninteresting news, I updated the server's error pages (404, 403, 500)

I also fix0red the server config so that, for example, https://kuribo64.net/assfssfdfdf.php gives you a proper 404 instead of 'File not found.'

it's not very interesting, but it's no longer a phony ad. heh

I just ran my first code on the gamepad


well, it's very simple. all it does is turn on the rumble motor, since that's the easiest thing to do to verify that the code is running at all (using the screen requires using I2C and setting up framebuffer shit, and I don't know how to control LEDs or shit).

the Flash chip isn't tied to the motherboard.

requires moving the Flash chip around. hoping the connections don't break.
can't write much shit in the Flash chip. I attempted using 4-byte address mode but it fucks up, no idea what's going on. (gamepad does use 4-byte address mode, look into that you lazy fuck)
I fucking burned my thumb.

* hopefully, get the screen working
* hijack rumble GPIO as a debug/comm line? or look into hijacking UART?

side note: the Flash bootloader is weird

next 0x40 bytes are the exception vectors, loaded at 0x00000000

So this is the name of the new Mario game they're planning for the Switch.

There's an old ROM hack by BMF54123 that has the same name, but it's a different thing.

So yeah, this is it. They extracted Mario from the Mushroom Kingdom and dropped him into the real world. Complete with giant buildings, ads everywhere, human NPCs, cars, traffic lights, and even pollution (what else would the smoke in that picture be?).

You see, the Rayman games have been a big part of my childhood. They had their own worlds with their magic and all. It fueled my imagination a lot. I would imagine all sorts of stories and shit in these worlds.

Then there was that image I saw in a Raving Rabbids game on the DS, at the end: Rayman being interviewed by media. It felt wrong. Rayman belongs in his own, special, magical world. You do not drop him into a world that a) has no magic, b) is shitty and constantly getting worse, and c) that we're stuck living in.

Same shit here. Do we want to tell gamers that the Mushroom Kingdom also undergoes global warming?

And this is, well, unoriginal. It looks like a 'play as Mario' mod for GTA. It looks awkward, Mario's proportions are very different from those of most humans. He's a fucking dwarf there. Then again, he is pretty short




This is better. See, this is the kind of shit I like seeing in a new Mario game. I remember seeing similar screenshots before and I had a good feel about it.

It is original, it is its own world, and it looks pretty good. Crystals in a desert, why not!

It seems to be a desert/Mexican themed world with small skull-y characters.


Either way, I'd like to see more. And hoping that the unoriginal "Mario in real world" part doesn't make for a major part of the game.
