October is cool too because it's my birthmonth and it will be a month after Super Mario's anniversary. Hopefully I'll go to college by then too or something if all goes well.

until it becomes a federal holiday, there's not much I can do

but again, mar10 is a day of corporatism isn't it

Not as special as Super Mario's 35th anniversary coming this September.

We can hope it's nowhere near as cruddy as the 20th anniversary of Super Mario where we got a port of Super Mario All Stars and some crummy red version of a Wii.

I wouldn't hope for much, Nintendo isn't one to celebrate anniversaries (Although they did put out Super Mario Maker on Super Mario Bros.'s 30th, but I'd say that's an exception). It's unfortunate that they don't though, they're perfect occasions to commemorate.

Also, your post reminded me that the Wii Mini was a thing. It launched at a weird time, seeing as the Wii U had just been released. I wonder why they didn't come out with it earlier.

??? you're back

I do think Super Mario Bros. 30th anniversary was really good for Mario's anniversary. It's more than I can say for the previous one with the red Wii and all.

Oh wow, didn't even know about the Wii Mini. Probably some collector's item at this point. Or a cynical console retro nostalgia marketing brouhaha in the future as we've seen with the Mini NES and Mini SNES.

That was actually for Mario's 25th anniversary. I don't think they ever did something for a 20th anniversary.

We'll get a Mario game update at the very least. Or some artwork to eyefeast on.

Indeed, I decided to drop by since I haven't posted in awhile. Also, the Wii Mini is indeed a collector's item. It goes for $300USD and above these days. Crazy considering its MSRP was $100USD.

Perhaps, since it's the 35th anniversary. Fingers crossed that they mark the anniversary with some sort of update.

what. for one, the wii mini was not exactly rare. 6 years or so from the wii's release, my parents finally caved in and let me have one. it was before the wiiu's release, and at the time they were producing plenty of wii minis at the bigass store I went. getting a regular wii was much harder, we got to take the very last one they had (bundled with some inazuma game I never played).
really, the only currently produced model was the wii mini.

Really? Huh. I rarely saw any Wii Minis where I am, although I didn't see many normal Wiis either. I guess it depends on where you live.

Me, I don't even know those things existed. I must've forgot about them entirely. :O

Update to Super Mario Maker 2 I'm guessing, but tough luck if it's for Odyssey or Super Mario Party or any of the older games ngl

fireworks

I think I'm developing an anxiety for them since assholes keep setting them off time to time in the neighborhood. Who likes sudden loud noises that set off car alarms? Stupid fireworks. Those things should be invented out of existence.

Artificial Obsolescence

Seeing so many smartphones and laptops piled in a junkyard. It's just disturbing, some of those things even look like they still work! It just makes me want to run over to the junkyard, start bagging some tech and running back home with them.

you think about this, and you think about the dire poverty a lot of people are struggling with. lots of perfectly fine stuff, buried in a landfill because these corporations are telling people to buy all the nice stuff to look trendy or something.

at this point, it's not much of a "little thing" as it is a bigger problem with the world and capitalism, but yeah.
