Hey guys,

I've been following the tutorials here pretty carefully, to the point where I have a model that displays in Whitehole but crashes the Wii. I'm not sure if it's something about how I have Riivolution set up (haven't done any Homebrew stuff in years, had to re-learn everything), something messed up with my model, or something I did wrong in adding the model to the planet table.
This is what my riivolution structure looks like:

This is what "SB4E01.xml" looks like:
<wiidisc version="1">
<id game="SB4E01"/>
<options>
<section name="Testing">
<option name="/SMG2 Replacement">
<choice name="Enabled">
<patch id="SB4E01Patch"/>
</choice>
</option>
</section>
</options>
<patch id="SB4E01Patch">
<folder external="/SB4E01/StageData" disc="/StageData"/>
<folder external="/SB4E01/ObjectData" disc="/ObjectData"/>
</patch>
</wiidisc>

This is what it looks like in Whitehole:

This is my planet list in Dossun2:

The planet is in an archive called "firstplanet.arc." It has a bdl, kcl, and a pa. I placed it into Flip-Swap because it is supposedly the least likely to crash. Unfortunately, this one crashed. I've double checked the steps I went through, only thing I can think of is that maybe the rounded edges on the planet are too much for the KCL (I didn't simplify the model because it didn't seem like a very complex model to begin with). Anyone here have any ideas? I can attach more images/files if needed.

Thanks

what program did you use to convert the model into .bdl?

also, it may be that your didn't capitalize the FirstPlanet.arc and the FirstPlanet.kcl/.bdl/.pa.

I used SuperBMD; I dragged the obj onto "superbmd_createbdl.bat" and a bdl appeared. The naming is consistent.
I've put all the relevant files into a Google Drive. I'm sure there's something really simple I'm not doing correctly, hopefully you or someone here will spot it.

Thanks!

ah, the issue there is that the SB4E01 folder shouldn't be inside of the riivolution folder. it should be placed on the root of the SD card.

either that, or add "/riivolution" before /SB4E01 in the .xml at the bottom. though, the first option is much easier :p

I already had it in both locations, just in case. Still crashes.

Have a look at the old SMG2.5 demo xml document. Under the folder external section, it will have something along the lines of create=true. That was a problem I had in the past, and using the same command from the document would usually work.

That's the only thing I can think of besides your model or the PlanetMapDataTable.

I think I found the XML, I'll give it a shot. Another idea I had was about my textures. My model has several of them, all in PNG format. Some of them have transparent/translucent areas. Is there a specific way I'm supposed to be formatting the textures?

It worked! Thanks everyone for the help!

Awesome! I had many troubles when doing this myself, so I understand the frustration.
