HTTPS!
It's still pretty much entirely experimental. What it does: • keeps reckless ISPs from inserting ads and shit into K64 pages • keeps them from violating net neutrality, too • defeats dumb content filters (like those your school uses) • prevents sniffing trolls from seeing your password, if you're unlucky enough to be in a place with such idiots The certificate is self-signed. Considering how the CA market is, that isn't changing anytime soon. This means your browser will show a warning, you have to add a security exception. This was quickly done, and only works for kuribo64.net (not the subdomains). Also, the board hasn't yet been updated to take it into account more cleverly. Board links will preserve HTTPS as they are relative, but absolute links in posts may take you back to regular HTTP. Appears Kuribot gives HTTP links, too. And I recall the uploader code using a hardcoded URL (the 'URL to your file' bit). Oh well... I just want to see how this goes. ____________________ NSMBHD - Kafuka - Jul melonDS the most fruity DS emulator there is zafkflzdasd |

But net neutrality is dead in the U.S.

"defeats dumb content filters (like those your school uses)"
Most schools will block the site right away for swears, mine did all the way back in 2014 (or maybe they were trying to stop me being an utter retard) Also you'd have to install the cert anyway which requires admin perms (and LightSpeed returns a fake crypto error on a blocked HTTPS domain) --- I'm happy we have a cert that isn't Let's Hipstercrypt tho |
