The Wii and its concept design were very revolutionary for the generation, I say.

I couldn't agree with you more. The Wii is my favorite video game console of time because of all the new ways you can play. Nintendo seems to always do that. Even if you look in their worst games, Nintendo puts a fresh concept in almost all of them. NSMBW (Not an example of their worst) had 4 Player Coop and a battle mode where you fought to have the most coins. Even back in NSMBDS, there is a Multiplayer System where you can fight to get the most Big Stars. And in the beta version of that game, there was a Multiplayer Coop similar to what its sequel has.

By far the best thing about it is, despite the fact it was realeased during the Xbox 360 craze, the Wii isn't an HD console. I feel like Nintendo is the biggest company that cares way more about making a fun console, than having the most excellent graphics (although they do care about that too)! The 3DS was much weaker than any of the rivaling consoles (maybe more than the Vita) and the Wii U is stated to be weakest of all the other rivaling companies. However, they had their own unique thing. I can't think of anything that unique from the PS3 and the PS4 and the Xbox 360 and the Xbox One, besides PS4 having some motion thingy on that control that acts like those DrawU thingys. The 3DS has Streetpass and a lot other things. Even freaking Netflix works on it (What next, the Nintendo Switch could make french toast?!)! Even the controversial "New" 3DS is basically a more powerful version of that console. The Wii U suffers from bad advertistments and an uncreative name but it has that gamepad (the Switch would later that that concept and make it portable), amiibos (another controversial thing), and it once had Miiverse. The Switch seems to take both ideas from their console by having 2 remotes that act like Wii Remotes but they can also act like an average game controller. The games like Zelda and Mario show off what the Switch is capable off. They are both explorable and vast.

And... that was the most Nintendo Fanboy I have ever got. I'm deeply sorry. I like Sony and Microsoft too though. :)

Let's look if the NinSwitch can replicate that success. ;)

I really want to see another concept like streetpass expanded on and put on the switch but, I don't think that'll be likely to happen so that's a shame.

What’s so great about multiplayer in NSMB? I know it’s fun but is it really that awesome?

Wait no, the Game Boy prints money via the Game Boy Printer if you can find reliable printer paper for it. ^_^

I hope Wii U Homebrew and CFW get a chance to atleast make something out of the Wii U for consolation.

Don’t worry, I like some Playstation games as well. ;)

I say playing New Super Mario Bros. Wii with friends is quite a magical experience, same with Super Mario 3D World. I've personally had the most fun exploring levels with my twin or with a group of people, and the more chaotic it gets, the funner it is. So they're my favorite Mario platformer titles overall.

I think it's the same reason I have a deep adoration for games such as the Mario Sports titles, Mario Party, Left 4 Dead 2, etc. I always have someone to play games with.

I feel some of the best multiplayer platformers are kirby's return to dreamland and kirby star allies. Although both of those games kinda suffer when not playing with friends.

That's why they should have options for online play, so people who aren't as lucky as those can experience the game with people at long distances.

Would you recommend Kirby if I like Mario. Kinda feels like Mario for some reason and I don’t know why.

i'm not really good with recommending games but i'll do my best

kirby isn't necessarily a difficult game so if you want difficulty well you're not gonna find it here

kirby is really fun with friends so if you want a good 4 player game like star allies or return to dreamland that's nice

kirby is also cool if you just wanna chill and relax, but usually nearing the final area the game gets pretty damn crazy

i would recommend it tbh, but i dunno you'd have to try and see

I thought it was. Sure, it doesn't hold up and hacking wise, it is the most difficult thing to make but I just like the chaos that happens when you collect a lot of coins and get a power-up. I remember playing it with someone who wasn't that great at it and we had fun. Similary, the SM64DS Minigames were Multiplayer supported and to me that was good as well, even if it was amusing with 2 people.

I haven't really hacked my Wii U yet. Mainly because of the updates that fix some bugs and I'm afraid I could banned on Nintendo Network just for hacking. That's also why I haven't done 3DS hacking yet, even though theres NSMB2 Hacks and DS hacking avabile for it.

And now my cheeks are red!

I haven't played Multiplayer with a bunch of humans since... 5 months I guess! I recall playing Nintendo Land, Marios, and even Pac-Man Party (I don't own any Mario Parties) with my cousins and their friend. I don't even do the online version of it that much. Even though I have Mario Kart 8 for my previously mentioned Wii U, I don't really think about playing it plenty of times, yet I'm without a doubt, good at it. Worse, most of them requires you to pay for something or create an account which I don't like doing. I look back on the Wii & DS, just connect and boom! Online! Xbox, Playstation, even the Wii U and Nintendo Switch, have to let you build an account or pay extra money, as if buying the console isn't already enough.

I absolutely like games where you help another character. It's the closet thing to multiplayer without anyone. LEGO games and DKC games are basically these.

Donkey Kong games, I hear are famous for their challenging gameplay. ;)

But I'd also like to try Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga because it's the only game where you explore the Beanbean Kingdom. The Mushroom Kingdom is overrated. :P

I love it when Mario games let you explore kingdoms that isn't the Mushroom Kingdom. SMB2 took place in Subcon aka Mario's Dream. I know Dream Team sort of explored that concept but I never played that game. I would like another Mario game that took place in that same location.

Also, I'd really like for this to get to the Virtual Console.
[thumbnail]

Yes, it is basically the game I mentioned earlier, but Doki Doki Panic is an important part of Nintendo's history and there are some changes to the game like having no run button, Wart (Mamu in Doki Doki Panic) taking 4 hits instead of 2, the Phantos are slightly more aggresive, an albino Mouser boss (I guess his brother?) that is harder than most of the other Mouser bosses, there was a higher cloud portion in 7-1, has a save feature, and a different shortcut in 6-3.

So yeah, I would totally play it, if it wasn't for the legal issues:
Posted by "TVTropes"
Since Fuji Television holds the rights to the characters (and is not very eager to remind folks how much of a wet toot Yume Kōjō was as an event), it could be a long time before the game ever gets re-released in its unaltered form on Virtual Console - it only barely made recent mentions in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U by omitting the Yume Kōjō trademark from the game's title.

But it's almost possible. Speaking of white mice, in SMBLL there is a Blue Bowser.

I bring that up, because he just seems intresting to me. On Mario Wiki, this guy is a Fake Bowser that appears in 8-4, he tries to defeat Mario/Luigi by breathing fire and throwing hammers as seen in the photo. When you kill him, he flips upside-down rather than becoming an enemy. On D-4:
SPOILER WARNING:

When you destroy him, he becomes a spiny.
Bowser's 8th color in SSB4 is a reference to him. He is quite the mystery to me.

Now why can’t Nintendo release more Mario games like SMB. 2 where you you’ve a different world, different items, different story and different mechanics? The only other sidescroller in the series that comes close to what SMB. 2 is like is SMW, that I feel. Although SMB. 3 was like the SM64 of mario sidescrollers.

I guess from a business standpoint they want to keep the core mario games a safe franchise which is why they keep milking the same formula, which isn't bad when they do it well but, It would be nice for more variety.

Considering the sales of SMB2, I'm not that suprised. SMB2 sold 7.46m copies. That doesn't sound that bad, but the first game sold 40.24m copies. And SMB3 sold 17.28m copies.

I've also ranked these metacritic user scores:
SMB2 - 7.9
SMB1 - 8.6
SMB3 - 8.9

The lowest rated game on here is SMB2. As for reasons, I've looked up on TVTropes. The game is considered to be a contested sequel:

Posted by "TVTropes"
Among fans, this game is one of two things: a very different but fun Mario game that deserves its status in the series as a classic, or a lazy ROM hack of an unrelated Japanese game that, while good, doesn't belong in the franchise.

Posted by "TVTropes"
Its status as a sprite swap ensures that Doki Doki Panic is almost always brought up in media that refers to this.

I've always got annoyed with the whole "SMB2 sucks because it is a lie!" crap. Who honestly cares that SMB2 was based of a Japan only title? The only time it makes sense is if you live in Japan.

Yes, Nintendo decided to rerealse the game in Japan as Super Mario USA while Doki Doki Panic was also released in that country. And now, Doki Doki Panic characters (not counting Imajin, Mama, Lina, Papa, and Poki and Piki) are part of Mario history.

But back on topic, as much as it sucks to hear these complaints, I understand why Nintendo hasn't done another in years. SMB2 is the lowest selling of the original trilogy.

I feel like cappy might be part of a final smash involving mario and the T-rex, He might be added to the move set but, I think it would be more of a projectile you thrown and can jump off of since I don't really see how possession could work as a fair move.

cappy could attack people for like 7 damage, but once you jump off on him you're helpless

It would be cool if cappy was part of an attack that could also be used as a recovery, like a side b or something
