Sorry for my bad English.
I have trouble with importing purplecoin model on blender.

First,I used BMDView2 to convert purplecoin.bdl(It's in purplecoin.arc) to .3ds format.
Then, I imported 3ds model to blender. It seemed it went right, but the model was white(no color).I noticed that this model uses vertex color, instead of textures.

I tried converting bdl to bmd using bdl2bmd, and importing bmd using blemd(BMD importer for blender), but the result was same.

So my question is,

1.Is it possible to import bmd/bdl models to blender with vertex color?

2.If it isn't possible, is it possible to export vertex color information (like color code?) from bmd/bdl with BMDView2 or other tools?

You can use SuperBMD, drag the bdl to SuperBMD and it will output a DAE with its textures, then import it to blender

Likely to be a UV problem.

How can I fix it?

You could fix the UV maps in Blenders UV editor but it won't be exactly the same though. You probably know how to use Blender but in case you don't: In Edit Mode, select all and then go to Mesh->UV unwrap and then click either unwrap or smart UV project and then click on the thing that usually says Default and select UV editing. In the UV editor you can press G to move selected stuff with mouse.

Try making an env map, go to the materials tab, check *Shadeless*, then go to the texture tab, then in preview, go to the materials tab and in the *Mapping* section, change the coordinates to *Normal*, then swap to material mode, and you have your env map

That sounds good, hopefully it works, but environment maps? Aren't those used to make reflections and stuff?

Yes if I remember well environnement maps should be used for PBL, in the case of rendering the model.
Just UV remap the model, or re-export in another format/find another way to export the model.

I tried that thing Doopz_JK proposed with sm64ds castle backyards model because i was curious and it changes the textures somehow. I doubt it will fix the UV maps of the coin just as they were but it may be still worth trying.

U know it's easy to recreate a purple coin model? In Blender.

In Sketchup it's even easier
