I'm about 90% certain I want to do this at the moment.

I can't think of a reason other than the fact I don't really like being a guy and I feel unhappy about what I look like and seem like as a guy, even though I've been told I don't look that bad. I feel that girls have less expected of them in terms of personality than guys. :P

Being unhappy about my biological gender identity is pretty much the main reason people transition, as far as I know.

I've been thinking about this for about a year and a half although I only took it a lot more seriously since earlier this year.

I also didn't know Staple felt that way. ^^ I wish you the best of luck. :)

Fellow trans girl here (you probably seen me here on K64 as Nina).

I was in that exact same place a few months ago, though somehow even more uncertain than that. Since about the age of 12/13 I had thought of wanting to be a girl, at the time I hadn't really realized that I could be trans and didn't do anything about it until like half a year ago where I came out to a few people. Fortunately for me most everyone around me has been very supportive.

For me it really became a thing once I actually bought and tried on some female clothes, all of a sudden "I guess I'll be on HRT for a while and come out to the people around me when I think I'm ready" turned into "Okay screw this I'm gonna do this immediately" and suddenly I was out to everyone and presenting as female full time as best as I can still being pre-everything, definitely not passing but whatever :)

One negative thing that happened to me though is that my gender dysphoria got a lot worse once I started socially transitioning. Before it basically wasn't a thing, I just wanted to be a girl and being a guy was just kinda meh? And all of a sudden I felt really depressed because of it and started focusing on the things I don't like about my body as it is now, though I still feel like I have a good starting point (you can see a picture of me in the photo album thread). Not saying this to discourage you or anything, but just to say that you could have more gender dysphoria than you may think. In a way this is pretty validating about my decision to transition at least :P

And I still haven't started HRT…

Anyway, not really sure what I meant to say with this long and probably incoherent post, but if you're this sure please try to start transition ASAP, usually the younger you are, the better the results :)

you don't even need dysphoria to be trans... if you like the other sex's attributes better, you're trans.

that being said, I'm still not quite sure of what I am and where I am and what I will do.

I don't want to deal with the administration or the medical system where they consider they have authority over you and your body belongs to them. and they seem to consider that you're only Trans Enough™ when you're on the brink of suicide, which is bullshit.

but this is premeditate as I haven't even decided anything.

This reminded me of the following quote.

Gender dysphoria does not mean that you are diseased or broken; it simply means that you are not content with living as your assigned sex. Doctors write this down so they have justification to give you the pills, therapy, and/or surgery you want or need.
Gender dysphoria does not necessarily mean a sad mood. If you have been feeling depressed or anxious, tell your therapist. You may benefit from treatment for that as well.

Apologies if this sounds offensive but having talked to trans people before, it seems gender dysphoria is when you feel like the opposite gender and it is "cured" by transitioning? I'm a gay who is not very knowledgeble on this subject so once again apologies. :P.

But it seems like this "Trans Enough" authority makes the classification unfair.

No problem, your post isn't offensive :)

Anyway, gender dysphoria isn't only that. It's a broad thing from what I read. But a common theme is, for example, "I wish I was born a girl (or a guy if you're a girl)".

Ah, I see. Thank you!

As for me I'm gay and male but I don't rely on gender or sex as a primary or even secondary characteristic (hence my use of "N/A" gender). I don't know what an "I don't care" gender is exactly called though.

gender on this board is meaningless anyway, it just lets you choose between three name color presets

my dream PC runs MS-DOS

reminds me of that article from some guy who assembled two PCs in a fancy desk that also served as a PC case: "best current PC" and "best PC from 1994"

the latter serving for oldschool gaming

I can barely imagine how it'd feel to be rejected the transition just because you're deemed "not troubled enough by your current gender".

you can still DIY

may be "illegal", but weed is illegal too, and it does get through despite their efforts, so

shit like getting your name/gender legally changed is another affair tho.

for example, France, in its incredible modernity, requires you to have the proper genitals (ie. get expensive, risky and heavily gatekeeped surgery) to get a gender change, because gender is totally defined by your crotch.

France is also notorious for its administrative complexity, so... good fucking luck.

and even if you do get your legal name/gender changed, it doesn't reflect everywhere. for example, diplomas.

so the only possibilities there are saying either
a) I am a crossdressing man, or
b) I am a (rich) trans woman

(or the other way around for FtM folks)

which is a concern given employers are the ones who see that message.

(noting that I don't encourage DIY hormones. that shit is serious, better know what you're doing)

I'd say you're either gender-neutral or agender if you had to fit in any of the non-binary genders. ^^

Also, 111 new posts in the last 24 hours, yippee!

I'd stick a middle finger up to any type of censorship except that that needs to be censored for reasons (like ISIS content), haha. Glad it worked and very happy to help. ^^

Go and make one yourself or ask somebody - pretty sure you have the right CSS skills, well they're certainly better than my crappy 'skill' at CSS. ;)

Anyway, why is NickServ registration disabled on NoLimitNET at the moment, if anyone's able to answer? I was going to join K64 IRC but I don't normally join without a registered nick first.
